I am thinking that this is a lot of money. We have deductions from our careers and my schooling this year. She promises us the max deduction. Is this a good price?

Turbo tax makes it sooooo easy... why pay anyone to do it?

Sound a bit high to me but it could be a minimum rate. DH and I pay around that amount but we have to file for ourselves, DH's business, and some investment income in another state so it's a bit more involved.

That is more than what I pay, and I have a home, attach two or three schedules to the 1040 because we itemize.

I honestly think that's way too much money. I do our taxes, but when we had them done, it was like 100 bucks, and that was two years ago.

We pay $275. She used to be $250. She was high already. We have a home, capital investments, student loans, my small business in addition to my "steady" income employer, etc...

We DO get the maximum we can get. She is VERY good.

You can have good deductions (job search, business expenses, etc..) but she will not get you more than any other good CPA will give you if they know their stuff and be within the IRS rules.

That seems high. My FIL paid $200 last year with his taxes for a house and itemized deductions.

I would highly encourage you to contact Kara (KittytheStray) at Saranta Calamas who is a vendor on here. Her office will work with you on your taxes!

I use them and I love them

I didn't pay anywhere near that much last year when Saranto did my taxes and got me back a huge amount when I really needed it

Kara will be doing my business taxes this year- I really need to make that appointment!

that sounds a bit high.

PLEASE don't go with someone because they "promise" to get you maximum deductions. Anyone can max out your deductions, but if your not entitled to them its a bad idea. You will pay for it in the long run!

Not sure why people think that b/c they own a home they're tax returns should be so complicated. For the most part, it's just two lines on Sched A that need to be filled out.

That being said, if all you have is W-2's and maybe some bank interest, then yeah, I'd say there's no reason why you should be paying $330 to have someone do your taxes.

Next time around try Kara from Saranto Calamis' Office. She is a vendor on here and did me and the hubs for $100. We got a LIF discount but still, she is great and inexpensive!

We pay 350.00 but we file seperately so technically its two returns. DH claims the house and we have kids. Our accountant comes to our home so we dont have to go the office so its convenience for us.

No home and one schedule? Too much.

We have two homes and 6 schedules and pay a bit more than that. Before the homes and the schedules we paid much less.

Go to H&R Block's website and do them yourself for like $30. They walk you through everything----so simple.

We pay $295. That includes e-filing fees. We are happy with him. I don't think the price was much different before we had a house.

Agreed! We paid the same. We have a lot of deductions too - my school loans, tuition, our house, donations, etc.
