Is a coffeemaker a good Christmas gift?
for a MIL?
That's what DH wants to get his mom, but I am unsure  the one she has now is a really low end Black & Decker and it's probably 5 yrs old (and the coffee it makes tastes like it's 5 yrs old too lol).

I got one for my MIL she was looking at them when we went to Macys so I went back and bought her one.

we usually get her gold earrings or a necklace... she loooooves jewelry. so I am thinking this is more of a housewares gift that she will be dissapointed with.

you have to see the one she has. it's so gross. first of all, don't ever buy a white cofeemaker. they stain after 1 use. 2nd, it was probably a $10 Walmart special. blech

I gave my parents one for Christmas two years ago. I got them a black Bunn to replace their icky white $10 machine.
They love it and it hasn't failed them yet. I ended up getting one as a wedding gift and after my IL's stayed at our house, they bought one for their house too.
