Is a jogging stroller like a treadmill that will eventually become a clothes hanger?
Crashing from Pregnancy... I'm debating on spending my very valuable BBB credit on a jogging stroller. I just got the Peg Perego Pliko Switch which is will be our primary stroller and I plan on getting a Maclaren for the lightweight umbrella when she's a bit older, but I'm torn on whether to splurge on a third...the BOB jogger. I always have good intentions with these sort of things, but $300 is ALOT to spend on something that will collect dust in my garage.
WDYT?? Did you get one? Do you use it?

I don't have a BOB but I have a BIG jogging looking stroller.
I had the Graco passage travel system. DS started to outgrow it at 1+ yo.
I got the jogging stroller that Summer he turned one. I love it. I used it as my main stroller for 1 year. Walking in the neighborhood, park, zoo, etc... Even in the stores. DS loves it still at 2+. It's big and comfy.
I got a smaller one recenctly for quick errands but I still use the jogging one.

If yoiu are a runner, I'd get the real jogging stroller now -
If you just have the INTENTION of running and have never really been a runner, I'd wait until you get into a groove and then go out and buy the stroller -
I have a Bugaboo that is awesome - but akward for jogging .....
My 2nd stroller was a Maclaren - but I exchanged it for the Baby Jogger City Mini and although it's not a jogging stroller for a REAL runner, for ME it's great.

You won't just use a jogging stroller for jogging. We use ours for jogging as well as for any type of outdoor activity that we go to. Zoo, playground, flea markets, craft fairs, walk to supermarket, beach, etc. The stoller moves so well on dirt/sand and ours has a huge basket that holds the diaper bag, cooler, video camera, plus all of our purchases.

We're planning on exchanging out Jogging Stroller we got as a gift for the City Mini. I heard great things about it. I'm not a real runner or anything, but thought it would be good for long walks or my jogging/walks (depending on when I get winded)

I wouldn't buy a jogging stroller unless I was a real runner, loved running, etc.

i'm a runner and couldn't live without my jogging stroller-so if you're serious about running and have a young child i think a jogging stroller is a must and will be used a lot.

This is the one I've been thinking about, City Mini. I'm not a big runner, but I definitely plan to speed walk through a park near my house often (mostly paved paths). I'm sure the City Mini is great for that. So, if I get the City Mini, do you think I'll need an umbrella stroller down the road too?

I'm not a runner but have a jogger that I got as a gift We used it every day but I just got the kolcraft tandem stroller used on CL which I have been using for the store since the basket is huge and more easily accessible than my jogger. BUT I love my jogger-it turns on a dime, its comfy for the boys and it can handle any terrain. I have the Valco double jogger. Oh and BTW I am NOT a runner-tho my azz could use it!

I have yet to use mine. When the weather was nice, DS I thought DS was too small. I plan on using it in the spring....DS will be 1. But finding time is the other problem. I like to do my excersies in the morning and I feel bad taking DS running with me at 6am if he doesn't wake until 7am.

Re: Is a jogging stroller like a treadmill that will eventually become a clothes hanger?
I realized that I wanted a jogging stroller for the beach, but since i don't go that often, I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I went on craigslist and got a used jeep jogging stroller, which you really can't jog with per se, but it is FANTASTIC for walks around the neighborhood and it is awesome for the beach. After spending soooooo much money on strollers I refused to buy new. We have used the jogging stroller more than the Peg or the MacLaren that we have!
ETA: I only paid $75 for it!

craigslist!!
people either use it or they don't.
if its on craigslist, chances are its practically new.
I am on my second used jogger. first was a single, then a double.

I don't have a super expensive one like the BOB, but I use mine for taking walks, going to outdoor places, etc. Unless you are a serious runner, I don't think its necessary to buy a "real" jogger like a BOB. I'd buy a less expensive jogger, and spend the rest of the credit on something else.

The city mini is not for jogging. Baby jogger makes other strollers that are intended for this purpose. But for walking, I am sure it is great. Everyone I know who has one loves it.

Another rave for BOB! It is the best stroller for hiking, jogging or just going to the mall. SO worth the price as it is the only stroller you will ever need. We got the infant seat attachment and have been using it exclusively.

I honeslty wouldn't get the city mini and the macleren..I'm obsessed with my city mini and I don't jog or walk fast...

I love the BOB. I don't jog with it, but I use it when I take DS for walks around the neighborhood, parks and walking trails. I think the recommendation is to not run with a baby under 6 months.

i don't have the BOB, and i am NOT a jogger, but i did get a double jogger when i had my DD. My DS is 2 and he LOVES to sit in it.
we use it when we do long outings.. zoo, beach, long walks.
so much easier to steer and maneuver. for short errandsi use a sit n stand
