Is a lamaze class really necessary?
I plan on taking a breast feeding and a baby care class but the lamaze class at my hospital is $175 and im not sure if it worth it. Im thinking that maybe i should just watch one of those videos or something instead

Im doing a Bradley class which goes over all the stages of labor and breathing etc etc. I am finding it helpful bc i have someone to ask questions to. I did rent all the Laugh and Learn series and i learned alot but w/ a live person, i can ask questions. I am finding it helpful

That's what I am doing. I don't think I'd even remember the breathing tricks anyway so why bother. I'd rather just get an idea of what to expect during labor......

jenise - definitely do the laugh & learn about childbirth video.
if after that you feel you need a class, then take it....
i got a LOT out of that video - and seriously, EIGHT pages of notes!!!
we didn't take a class!

i didn't take it, i was in serious denial about labor LOL When i got to the hosptial they taught me how to breathe , then I had c section so I didn't need it

absolutely not. the nurses are usually awesome and will teach you everything you need to know when you get there the day of delivery! and theres that dvd laugh and learn i've heard great things about that!

i found that the lamaze class covered everything and we didnt need to childcare class or the breastfeeding class... the lamaze class was alot more then lamaze and 100% worth it because it covered anything you had questions about
