is a pillowcase dress an appropriate gift for a newborn...
...or are they more for toddlers?
they do come and/or can be made in a newborn size, but since i don't have a girl and it's been so long since i shopped for a baby... i could use help from new mommies.
just in case you don't know what one looks like...

I think as long as it comes with something to cover the diaper then it's a very pretty gift.

yeah! that's how it originated.
i know that martha stewart has a pattern or two on her sight. they are really easy to make, even if you don't sew much (like me)
