Is Allegra safe for pregnancy?
I'm trying to think ahead since I started Clomid this month. I get TERRIBLE spring/early summer allergies, and I've always taken Allegra for them.
Anyone know if I can continue taking it after getting my BFP?
Thanks!

Re: Is Allegra safe for pregnancy?
it's a category C which means they don't know enough about it to prescribe it to preggo women, and it's best taken after the first tri.
claritin is a category B which is better but the best thing for preggos to take is chlorpheniramine and tripelennamine, at least during the first tri, if they work for you (not sure what the "brand" names are)

Re: Is Allegra safe for pregnancy?
I was always told it was a no-no. (I used to take Allegra-D). I was told I could take Claritin or Benadryl.
Good news is that my allergies have gotten so much better since I had my babies.
My advice would be to take it now and who knows, when you get pregnant, your allergies may not be as bad!

When we came down to NC to house-hunt, I wasn't taking anything yet, because nothing was blooming in NY. I got here unmedicated, and let me tell you--it was the most miserable I've ever been in my life. I couldn't function!!
I don't know what I'm going to do!

Re: Is Allegra safe for pregnancy?
My OB said Claratin was fine but prefers if it is only occasional but said to avoid the Claratin-D b/c of the Sudafed. She also said my Opcon-A eye drops were fine. I use the neti pot often so I don't need Claratin much.

I had to stop using Allegra-D but was able to continue using Flonase.
Talk to your doctor/allergist to make sure.

Both my RE and my OB/GYN approved my Singulair and Nasonex combo. Singulair is category B.

my dr was too much...he would not approve anything for a yeast infection either, just wanted it to run its course.
