Is anone giving their child breastmilk and formula?
Im been exclusively pumping for about 3.5 months now - DD is 4.5 months - and its been hard keeping up with my milk supply especially since the virus hit me and i completely lost any desire to eat and drink for a few days - ive really noticed a dip in my supply.
Did anyone continue to give breastmilk and some formula bottles a day till the child was one year old? How did they react to it? Were they gassy with the transition back and forth?
This is what i am afraid of - i want to pump for as long as i can - but i don't want to drive myself crazy pumping all day long......Im happy giving her a few bottles of formula a day - i just don't want to disrupt her tummy.
Has anyone else gone through this?

Re: Is anone giving their child breastmilk and formula?
I just started doing this last week since I'm going back to work. He gets formula during the day & I bf when he's with me. So far he hasn't had any problems adjusting & I haven't even been pumping much.

I did. Ella got formula & BM for 6 months. She went back and forth between the two with no problem. I plan on doing the same with #2.
It was the best of both worlds for me. I could BF when I wanted, and bottle/formula feed when it was more convenient or if I was out of BM. My random daily appts didn't really allow for any kind of pumping schedule.

I've just started doing this within the last few days. I can't feed dd and pump and have enough for bottle feedings. I do bottle feedings at night to really top her off. But I'll add a few ounces of formula to the breastmilk bottle. I hope this isn't bad.

Re: Is anone giving their child breastmilk and formula?
Me! DS is 6 months old and a couple of weeks ago I found out I have to travel for work the first week of April. I needed to stock up a supply of breast milk for DH to use when I am gone so I started adding 2 ounces of formula to his bottles of BM twice a day to help me build a supply in the freezer.
My ped said it was fine and DS has been fine! The only thing is that DS has not been pooping as regularly. He used to poop every day, multiple times a day. Since I started adding formula, he goes a few days without pooping. But ped says he is OK!

I did the exact same.... except for 3 months.
