Is anyone else hoping they give birth earlier than their EDD?

I'm not talking about months ahead of time, just maybe a week or two? I would really love to have my baby on my mother's birthday (May 22) and I'm due on th 29th. Is that horrible of me?

I don't think it's horrible of you, you have a special reason for wanting your LO to be born on May 29th.

Plus I think by the time we all get to the end we'll be wanting to come before our EDD

I'd personally like my baby to come on my EDD because timing wise with my maternity leave it would work out the best. However, the week before would be nice also...maybe on Easter, so I can have a little Easter baby . DH will also be off from work that week also as he's a teacher and that's their spring break.

I go back and forth.
On the one hand I want as much time to get ready as possible- since DH and I tend to put everything off until the last minute and are horrible planners!
On the other I know that as I get closer to the end I will just want her OUT of me- and I don't deal well with discomfort etc... so I am sure I'd be glad to have her arrive a bit early to avoid a few extra weeks of feeling big as a house and uncomfy as heck!

I think every lady wishes the baby would come early. My DS came 2 weeks early and it was the BEST thing, I just started to become uncomfortable and I didn't get stretch marks. so my doc said this time the baby will be 2-3 weeks early, I'm happy with that, but no earlier that wouldn't be good

I need my baby to come late because if he or she is the same sign as THREE of my in-laws I will kill myself.

I did with DD (she was due 12/23) but this one is due 7/10 and that's my mom's 50th birthday this year. She can't think of a better gift to receive!

I am the opposite I want this LO to come out late. Like 3 days. I am due 6/23 and DS doesn't end school till 6/24. I don't want to have to worry about my SIL trying to balance getting him to school on time or him missing the last few days.

I don't think it is horrible of you to want a special date. When pg with DD I thought it would be cool if she was born on 4-6-08, I am a CPA and total nerd thinking multiples of 2 would be cool

With this one, we have SO many March b-days that we are bound to hit on 1 of them which would be great. BUT my true wish is to go as late as possible(crazy I know) because that would push my return date to work AFTER Thanksgiving instead of before. I feel guilty about that, I know it is selfish, but I'd love to make it that far.

I feel like I am going to go late...I am due 4/11 WISHING I go that day for significant reasons..but I have a feeling I am going to be here way after that!

i have been in so much pain the whole pregnancy and having contractions for a while now so i do wish in a way as long as the baby is guaranteed to be ok... easter is 5 days before my due date so i dont want to miss easter if im in the hospital but id love to have baby before and then be ablke to bring baby to my family for the holiday if that was possible.

I'm due July 4th so I can just about GUARANTY that starting June 15 I'll be doing jumping jacks daily.

I sooooo do NOT want to have a 4th of July baby. I don't want to be in the city at all that day, and I'm delivering at Columbia Presbyterian!!!

YES!

DS was 17 days early and I am hoping this baby will be too! Doctor said it's very likely....I have a big job a week after my EDD so any extra time I can get is helpful!!!!!

As long as she'll be healthy and happy, she could come now! I still have 8 weeks left and let me tell you, I'm not a fan of being pregnant. I haven't even had my shower yet.

I am due 4/3 (the day before Easter) so I'd prefer is came a little earlier than that so I won't be in the hospital on Easter..But that would most likely make her a March Baby. I really want an April baby..is that weird?? lol
We have no kids bdays in April in my family and a few in March, so all the birthdays get squished together.

My dad's bday is April 16th- but he was born on Good Friday- I wouldn't mind that, but then I'd probably be in the hospital or just getting out on Easter...

So...I just don't know!

I am actually hoping to go alittle later.... (Though I have a feeling I'm going to regret saying that)

I'm due on August 20th but since I am off for the summer, my maternity leave will be cut short. If I give birth a week later, I will have a longer leave from work

Not horrible at all, and you will understand why I say this when you edge in on 9 months! I am having Miss Bean a week early (March 1st, EDD March 7th) and I am honestly thrilled, because I could not do this for another 5 weeks!

I have 3.5 weeks to go and I am SOOOOO over being pregnant. this baby is welcome to join the world whenever he'd like. However, I went late with DS and wouldn't be overly surprised if I did again. Apparently I make a nice enough home on the inside that they would like to stay a little longer.
