I will not watch them, nor will I watch anything that has to do with them.
I agree with you 100%. I don't know, I just think there's better uses for all that time/money/energy right now.
besides the fact that they bore the crap outta me...

Re: Is anyone else NOT watching the Olympics?
I plan on watching large parts of it. I don't support China, but I do support and admire all the amazing athletes who have spent all their lives training for these events. For many, this is their first time outside their country, and it is a huge life-altering event for them. It isn't the athletes' fault that the host country has so many human-rights violations, earth-destroying environmental issues, etc, etc.....
We're DVRing most of the footage, but some events I'm sure I'll skip over most of.

Re: Is anyone else NOT watching the Olympics?
I would have watched more if it wasn't in China.
And not because it's China, more so the time zone. It seems like you can't watch anything "live". They are exactly 12 hours ahead of us so in order to watch stuff that is at 6pm their local time, I have to be watching it here at 6am. No thanks.

Re: Is anyone else NOT watching the Olympics?
There are certain sports I enjoy watching, so I will watch those...
Last night I didn't feel like watching and DH made a comment that I wasn't patriotic.

Re: Is anyone else NOT watching the Olympics?
Wow--last night was SOOOOOO exciting with the mens swimming relay. The French team was talking smack about them and they beat the French team by like a fingertip. It was awesome!

I'm not watching them. They bore me...
I like watching the figure skating during the winter olympics but other than that they don't interest me much.
DH has been watching them. He likes watching the olympic games...

How awesome was that??? I love to watch the swimming! Heck, I love watching the Olympics. I like to think that by participating in the Beijing Olympics more people will become aware of what's going on in China. Plus, I'd rather boycott their products and the companies (Hello, Wal-Mart) that use China.

I'm not watching them. The only thing I might watch is women's gymnastics. And that's just if I happen to catch it.
Otherwise, don't really care.
I totally agree word for word. Saw some gymnastics last night- it was cool but I won't go looking for it.
Watching swimming bores the cr@p out of me....

I just have no interest in it at all. I'm mildly bothered by the fact that they're in China, but at the same time, I buy things made in China, so why am I so bothered by it? I don't know. It's really because I have NO interest at all.
It's very hard (for me, anyway) to not buy stuff made in China- for a while I was looking at labels, and it just seemed hard to escape- I think you can find things made elsewhere, but who has the time?
I just have no interest either. And I'm bummed that I had only a couple more weeks to watch Morning Joe on MSNBC before I go back to work on, but they're not on because of the coverage.
