Is anyone else slacking with the getting rid of the baba???
We had a whole plan to give our baba's to santa- and well- santa come and gone and the bottles are still here!
He does great with a sippy= but for some reason- he will not drink milk from it- My ped. made me feel like it was more important for him to have milk- so if need be- hold onto the bottle... but Id really like to get rid of it!
Anyone?

Re: Is anyone else slacking with the getting rid of the baba???
Sarah's still on the bottle at 22 months about 1x a day. The doctor said it's normal b/c having a sibling close in age she won't want to give it up. He said when Andy's a year old to just take them away and they may refuse to drink from the sippy for a day or 2 but when they get rhirsty they'll start drinking. I'm not sure yet I will be able to do that.

Same here but honestly I'm not even trying, sleep is way too important to me.

You make a good point. We WERE trying for a while there. We really were, but now Christopher just FLIPS OUT if we won't give it to him and he has a one track mind, so he could probably go on about it the entire day if we let him, which we really don't want to. So, we've given up for now. I think maybe we'll wait until he's older and do the whole "giving the binky to Santa" thing.

Re: Is anyone else slacking with the getting rid of the baba???
Slacker here too.
He drinks water just fine from a sippy but won't drink milk - cold, warm - doesn't matter.
Getting rid of the binky was a piece of cake...getting rid of the bottle though...I don't know... I'm afraid he'd ever drink milk again...
Anyone have any tips?

Re: Is anyone else slacking with the getting rid of the baba???
I have tried to give her milk in a sippy cup and she won't drink it. Then I got a Nubby sippy cut thinking since the top part is rubber like her bottle she will drink from it but for some reason she can't get anything out of it even my SIL tried to drink from it, I guess I got 2 bad Nubby cups..... I am not worrying about it, she is only 15 months old. She only gets a bottle with breakfast and before bed.

This is our issue too.... I'll ask him for his pacy and he'll give it too me. He's cool for a couple of hours, but once he's tired he goes crazy without it. I'm not taking it away from him until after the baby is born.

Re: Is anyone else slacking with the getting rid of the baba???
We got rid of the bottle no problem. He prefers his milk in a straw cup - maybe try that. Sometimes he'll drink from a sippy, sometimes not. We don't have a paci problem, but we do have the thumb...

Jared likes to drink his milk from his baba. Juice and water we can get him to drink from a sippy.

Yes! Slacking big time!!
It's not even her...it's me. She drinks milk from the sippy, I just don't think *I'm* emotionally prepared for her to be a "big girl."
However, I'm kind of forced to do it...the new baby will be here in May and my doctor suggested she be off the bottle for at least a couple of months before that.

You have to pop a whole in it with a sharp knife

Jake is 25 months and still gets his mild from a baba in the morning and at night. He will not take it from a sippy cup. I will try again in a few months.

Re: Is anyone else slacking with the getting rid of the baba???
Mine drink from a sippy cup, but only juice/water - however, they have their bottle before naps and bed, so I don't know how to get rid of them. And, they won't drink milk out of the cups.

Re: Is anyone else slacking with the getting rid of the baba???
They told me today that at nursery they won't give Noah milk from a bottle, only from a sippy cup. I know thats fine, however I don't know if Noah knows just how fine that is. He will have to have his milk from a cup...even though he loves his bottle!!!
Poor kid, he won't know what hit him!

Re: Is anyone else slacking with the getting rid of the baba???
Ava just got rid of the baba about 3 weeks ago.....we just went cold turkey.....at first she refused to drink it and pushed it away.....I kept offering it to her and then finally after about three days she gave in and drank her milk from the sippy. She has been doing great. No more babas for us. Thank god.....I hated cleaning them. I just think its important not to give in. Now she calls her sippy the baba when it has milk in it.
