I don't think it's too early. The second weekend in December is usually when we put up our tree (real). When I was growing up we put it up then so it was after my brother's b-day, now the concern is DD's & DH's b-day and making sure they are kept separate from Christmas.

We do ours right around Joe's Birthday and that's Dec 3rd. This year we'll be doing it the Sunday after Thanksgiving because of our weekend on at work. I CAN NOT be into the 9th day of the 25 days of Christmas without a tree

Same here - we don't take it down until Little Christmas either. It feels like it's up forever.

I came into work today to find that a building thdown the street has already deocorated their loby . It's huge & has a glass front, so you can see it form the street. I guess they get the decorating elves early, so they can get their undivided attention.
So, no, 12/9 isn't too ealrty. Are you getting a real tree?

I always put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving so I don't think Dec. 9th is too early.

My tree goes up the day after thanksgiving (matter of fact my outdoor lights have been up for 2 weeks already), I dont think the 9th is too early
