is it a total PITA to get a double stroller that can't hold an infant carrier?
i really like the city mini double jogger but no infant carrier option so far. i'm wondering how much of a pain it is to have to take 2 dc's out of the carseat and transfer them to the stroller. i really LOVED my snap and go and used it till my ds was 8+ months old.
if you didn't use the infant carrier in your double stroller, how did it work out for you?

Re: is it a total PITA to get a double stroller that can't hold an infant carrier?
my oldest was born in may, and I NEVER kept him in his car seat in the stroller...but I also didn't have to worry because it was warm out...
now, with #2, he was born in november, and only once have I taken him out of the carseat. Its just too cold, and I like the keep him warm in his car seat...I didn't want the shift to cold air.
Being that you are due in April, I think you can get away with just transferring!

I have the city mini double and love it. I have 2 boys 20 months apart and although it is a pain to transfer them, it is probably one of the easiset strollers to open and close and put away.

If you get a sit and stand you can put the carrier on it.

Unless you plan on doing a lot of errands in and out of the car, you probably can deal with the transfer to/from carseat from/to stroller.

Re: is it a total PITA to get a double stroller that can't hold an infant carrier?
I thought the city mini 2009 was supposed to be coming out with a car seat attachment this year?
I don't know I thought about it and decided I needed to keep her in her seat. With a toddler running around I was concerned about having two kids to strap into the car rather than just snapping one and going.

BUT it seems like the infant carrier would really crowd the other childs seat.

BRUs carries one by Kolcraft.. it has an attachment that can hold an infant seat, then you can take that attachment off when you no longer need an put a reg. seat there. This is the one im looking into.

That is funny b.c the people at BBB keep telling me that they have the attachment on the 2009.
It's okay I want the bumbleride b.c I have seen it in person a few times but I'm waiting for BBB westbury to actually get it in the store to try to fold it myself (they ordered it on 12/10 but they don't know when it will arrive). I have seen it a few times with a 2 year old and a car seat in it and the 2 year old looks very comfortable.
The city mini looks nice but I agree that it looks narrow/small.

Re: is it a total PITA to get a double stroller that can't hold an infant carrier?
I really want a double stroller that has the infant car seat attachment. I was able to keep DD in hers for over 8+ months as well, and I would hate to wake the baby while it's sleeping to take it from the car seat to the stroller. I've heard the Graco was pretty good, anyone look into that?

Re: is it a total PITA to get a double stroller that can't hold an infant carrier?
My answer...kind of. I originally got the Phil & Ted Sport with the doubles kit, but I ended up getting a sit n stand after a few weeks because it was a PITA not to be able to keep DD in the car seat. My DD is almost 10 months and she's still in the infant seat so it's nice to have. It's a PITA when you need to run in somewhere quick and you don't want to have to spend 10 minutes just getting everyone into the stroller just to run into the bank for 2 minutes. Whenever I know I'll be out for more than a few minutes I use my P&T, but for quick trips I use the sit n stand. My DD hates being in the infant seat so for anything more than a few minutes anyway, but she's really happy in the P&T where she can sit up and look around. It would be really nice to just have one stroller that had an infant seat attachment, but I really love the P&T so it was a trade off. The sit n stand is not that expensive so I didn't mind having to get a 2nd stroller and since I have an SUV I keep them both in the trunk so I can use which ever one is more practical at the time.

It's okay I was there again last night and talked to someone different who says it will be there in March.

Re: is it a total PITA to get a double stroller that can't hold an infant carrier?
It's a little bit of a pain, but I love my Phil and Ted. I'd rather the short term inconvenience of not having the carseat attachment than the heaviness of a typical double stroller.

This is the same reason why I am not going with this stroller, even though I really like it. I cannot be bothered with the transfer with an active 2 1/2 year old to also manage.
ETA: We are considering the BOB Revolution Duallie and the Bumbleride. Both hold the infant carrier and run about the same price (with the necessary add-on infant seat bar for the BOB) on strollers.com
