Is it necessary to use Baby Spring water to prepare formula?
I've been using tap water because they said it provides the fluoride the baby needs.
What's the difference between Baby spring water and filtered????

Dunno - I use either filtered from the filter we have installed in our house, or bottled, or tap in a pinch.
My sister brought me BOILING water the other day when Alex was screaming...

we use bottled water from the water cooler and when we run out we use the Britta.
I think Baby Spring water is just a fantastic marketing idea...just like bottled water.

Just works for us.

Re: Is it necessary to use Baby Spring water to prepare formula?
My ped told me not to use the baby water b/c of the flouride. Too much floride can cause flourosis. He told me to use boiled tap water in the beginning and then when he got a little older we switched to bottled water

Re: Is it necessary to use Baby Spring water to prepare formula?
When we lived in the city I ALWAYS boiled the water, but sometimes I use tap out here.
DS likes room temp bottles, so I use my formula pitcher for water right now and use my Brita, pour the water into the pitcher and then use that for bottles. Some girls just get a seperate brita.
Or I boil. Or give tap. I really think bottled water isn't necessary though.

Up to 1 year old I use poland spring to make bottles, just easier, since I only drink bottled water.
After 1 year I give Brita for the flouride from tap water.
That's just me though, my PED rec's tap or filtered water for newborns on.

We do this for DS. Our pediatrian said it was fine from day one...and advised us not to stress over the tap water. Nassau County does not have flouride in the water...so either way we have to give him a supplement when the time comes.

Re: Is it necessary to use Baby Spring water to prepare formula?
I have a poland spring dispenser so I use that. If I run out of that then I buy a thing of bottled water and keep it on the counter.
