Landon is awake ALL DAY & NIGHT Chat Icon
He only sleeps from 10 am - 12 pm. I am totally serious. I don't know how he just does not sleep at all.

Landon looks so alert in all your pictures!!! HE is gorgeous!!

Do you have to hold him during the day or will he allow you to put him in the swing, bouncy?

Re: Is it normal for a newborn NOT to

DS is still sporadic with his sleeping all day. At night he'll usually sleep from 8-10, 10:30-12:00 and then I'll give him one formula bottle and he sleeps until 4:30 then back to bed until 7. Then he's up until noon or so and then it's little cat naps until that dreaded witching hour from like 7-9pmChat Icon

Re: Is it normal for a newborn NOT to

Parker was a cat napper, it was RARE to get a long 2 or 3 hour stretch from him. DEF> awake during day, but he slept at night well, so all was good !

Thanks Chat Icon
He will go in the swing or bouncy seat for a short amount of time, like 15 minutes at a time Chat Icon He is always wide awake and it seems like he gets bored really quick. My mom said I was the same way when I was a baby!

Re: Is it normal for a newborn NOT to

DS was like that, for the first 2 weeks he slept round the clock. Then he discovered the world and was up all day! For about 3 weeks he would barely nap even. But then at 10/11 he would fall asleep for 5-6 hours take a bottle and go back for another 5 hours!

Mine was the same way. He slept a lot for the first week and a half. After that it was the beginning of Catnaps...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon 45 minutes was considered a great nap for him...

Then at like 6 months a little switch went on and he started taking longer naps. It was only 3 but each of them were like an hour each. Then by the time he was 7 months he was taking 2 naps but one was for 2 hours (sometimes 3) and the second one was for 1 hour.

Now at 2 he is only taking one nap and it's anywhere between 1-3 hours...

Re: Is it normal for a newborn NOT to

DS only has two types of days. Ones where he will sleep all day (3 2-3 hr naps) and days where he will not nap at all.

The fun part of every morning is you never know what you're going to get!!Chat Icon

my dd was the same way. I remember crying when she was around 6 weeks saying, "I thought newborns slept all the time!" Not Maddie. She is getting better now that she is older.

DS was like that the first few weeks and then the complete opposite, he slept so much I was getting worried and would constantly check to make sure he was breathing because he was asleep so much. ow at 5.5 months he is really on a schedule, sleeps throguh the night and takes two naps (sometimes 1 long one) through the day.
