I know none of this is major, I'm just disappointed. My parents were supposed to come visit today for a week. DH & I were going out to dinner with our only friends here in Chicago tomorrow (now they're coming here, which will still be fun, but not the same). Then we were going away overnight on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary (but AF just showed up early, so that would have sorta been a waste anyway). Our anniversary is Monday and DH is leaving that morning for the week (until Thurs). So now I guess we'll celebrate with dinner at home Sunday night after Lily goes to bed. My mom hurt her neck a few weeks ago and now it's finally getting better but she didn't feel up to traveling. They are coming the week before/during Halloween now, which will be fun.
But in the bright side, we have a nice new TV to watch while we're stuck home. And I may have found a babysitter so we might be able to go out on some Friday nights (if I can work up the nerve to call her & meet her.)
I can't imagine how difficult it is to not have your family around to help.
Thanks, Steph. Sometimes it's not so bad. We get lots of quality family time without the drama/chaos of some "certain" family members. Other times, it really really stinks.
