Is it true that w/ baby #2 you usually deliver earlier?
When I gave birth to DD I was two days past my due date. I heard that w/ the second child more people tend to go earlier. I'm only 17 weeks & already counting the days!

My Dr said not true! DD#1 was 3 weeks early and he doesn't think this one will be early because of that.

My doctor said "they come when they want to". The delivery might go faster though if all goes well.

That makes perfect sense. but you may indeed go a wek early. I doubt you will go past your due date. We'll have to wait and see.
But statistically, women do go sooner with every pg.
i was 4 days late with #1, 4 days early with #2. But that doesn't mean I will go a week 2 weeks early with #3. Maybe just by a few days......I dont; know. But I'm hoping to go early. But I'm not going to get my hopes up.

I have a c-section scheduled for 10 days before my due date, and life would be easy if that plan works out, but I do wonder if she will come before. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Not in my case.
I do think second babies are definitely shorter labors.

My first one was 3 weeks early, my second one was 10 days early. I don't necessarily think the second one is sooner, but the labor is supposed to be shorter.

Re: Is it true that w/ baby #2 you usually deliver earlier?
i def dont agree to this- based on my sister, who has had SIX and was almost 2 weeks late with every single one...
i dont wish #2 come early though- sorry, im different from you all...she is just SO EASY to take care of inside, you know? likfe is going to be crazy with an almost 2 year old and newborn, that if she wants to stay inside for another week or 2, be my guest...!

Re: Is it true that w/ baby #2 you usually deliver earlier?
I went early with both but #2 stayed in 6 days longer than #1 (both boys). But both made it out in week 37. I know someone who went early with #1 and #2 and went late with #3 - so go figure! My doctor said it doesn't make any difference whether you went early or late - they really don't mean much to each other.

Re: Is it true that w/ baby #2 you usually deliver earlier?
I used to think the 2nd one came earlier based on friends experieinces, but then when I kept asking around to other people I got a lot of mixed. So you never know... It's all up to the baby. I just hope so!!!!

Maybe you could take it out to see it, and then put it back because it's easier!
