Is my realtor being obnoxious or is it just me? LONG!
My regular realtor is awesome but the guy who owns the agency is handling the escrow stuff. We sold last week and all the inspections need to be done. Yesterday he let the apprasier for the sellers in my home without any notice so my house was a mess- stuff all over and critical finanical information(tax stuff) all over the table.
Here is our email conversation.
HI Ron- I know that there is a lot to get done in our home during escrow but I would appreciate 24 hour notice of anyone entering our condo. I was very surprised to receive the message yesterday from you on my home answering machine that the appraiser going to be there while I was at work. I had personal papers out on the table and the house was obviously not in the condition I would like others to see.
Thank you for this courtesy.
His reply:
I’m sorry, the appraiser called me from down the street with no notice at all! He was only in the home for 2 minute sand I waited for him outside and supplied him with my photos. I thought it would be best to just go and get it over with. Termite is Monday , I think you already know.
My reply:
Next time could you please enter the home with whomever goes in- I know they are professionals but this makes me even more nervous since there was plenty of stuff laying around.
His reply:
I was there in the doorway the whole time!
I am being unreasonable here or he just being a jerk???!!!!!!

I agree. I'm sorry you had to go through this Christine. I hated when I sold and would go crazy making the house look like a showroom every second of every day.

Thank you for the validation- he acts like I am being unreasonable when he's the jerk. Even his assistant said she would be ****** if their were people in her home without her knowledge. I try to avoid working with him and stick to my usual realtor but he works for this guy.

Also 1st he said he waited outside then he said he was in the doorwya..which one was it?? You can always get your key back-you are still the owner right?

I KNOW! I noticed that information too in his snotty reply. There is a lock-box on the property for access during escrow but I think I made myself very clear on this issue. He wants his employee (my usual realtor) to make the commission on the future purchase of our house(MUCH more than the commission on the sale of this one) so he better start minding his attitude. I will be letting my usual guy know about all this and it will be stopped I am sure!

Maybe you should remind him (nicely) that he works for you. Also, I would take the key back, there is no reason for him to have it if there are going to be no more shows. If he needs to let someone in, try and schedule it so you can be home.
