Is Soymilk gassier than regular milk?

Thomas' daycare teacher suggested vanilla soymilk because Thomas is just not loving regular milk. She thought he might like the flavor and sweetness.

Does anyone now if it is gassier (in general) than regular milk?

Thanks!

Re: Is Soymilk gassier than regular milk?

Soymilk is great for those who are lactose intollerant. DH suffers from Gastro upset from dairy products but he finds soymilk a great alternative.

As for a child, I'd check with your pediatrician before offering soy in place of milk on a steady basis. There could be some nutritional supplimentation needed as I'm not sure soy can offer all that milk can for a child. I may be wrong about that - but I'd always check with a doctor.

I switched my son to soy because he was getting very constipated with the regular milk. I have to say, his gas stinksChat Icon , but he does not complain about it, so Im assuming it doesnt hurt his belly.
