Is the price of gold still high?
I totally should have sold some jewelry back when everyone was posting that gold was high. Is it still?
Also, any reputable places I can take my stuff to? I'm in Queens so Nassau would be best. TIA!

I have sold some at Kay Jewelers and have received a nice amount of money for it. You can even go online to their website and register for the package and they will mail it to you, all you have to do is mail the jewelry back and they will send you a check, if it is not what you want for it, they will send your jewelry back to you. I have done this twice and had no problems and was even surprised by how much $$ I was getting.

Any other suggestions on where to take it? I would prefer not to go to a chain place only because I've heard they will give you less than going rate.

Lee Jewlers in Whitestone (off the Cross Island Parkway and 154th street) is a reputable jewelry store, and they are licensed to buy gold and resell jewelry.
I sold some old gold to make have them make my wedding band and earrings.
They've been in business for a long time.

thats the only place i bring any of my jewelery for repairs, cleanings, etc...

Not sure where you're located, but there's a refinery called Doral Corp in Freeport on Atlantic Avenue that offers higher prices than you'd get at most jewelers. I was very happy with my experience there.
