Is there a book or website for non-Jewish people
to understand the holidays and traditions? DH is Jewish, I'm not, but I want to understand and carry on the traditions when we have a family and I'd love a resource to go to. Am I lost for this idea?

Those are great books. But know this, if you ask a Jew a question, they will answer you with another question 99% of the time. It's just the way we are .

I second the suggestion for My Jewish Learning.
It's written for people who are starting from nothing in terms of knowledge of Judaism, so it's very easy to follow.

Re: Is there a book or website for non-Jewish people
I love the book The Jewish Way ! It walks you through the how and why behind the cycles of the Jewish year (holidays) and Jewish life (B'nai mitzvot, weddings, funerals, etc). It's definitely a great book to have if you are Jewish or if you have a lot of Jewish friends and family so you can get a good sense of all of the traditions (such as how to behave at a shiva call, what is going on at this wedding? etc). It's a great book!
