Is there a trick to getting a real person on the phone with those awful costumer service menus?
I can't stand trying to navigate those stupid menus where they want you to say what you need but then don't actually give you the help you want. Are there any tricks that usually work to get to a person. I finally got my credit card menu to say it would transfer me to a person and then of course it said it couldn't transfer me and hung up!

0 usually does the trick... Although cablevision for example doesn't allow it.. Lol figures...

Sometimes if you keep hitting 0 you can get an operator.

I hit 0 a few times - the first time it usually tells me it doesn't understand my entry. So frustrating!

Press 0 or during voice prompts, keep saying "representative".

Thanks, I will definitely try these. I tried hitting 0 once but it just ignored me. It's so frustrating!

I either hit 0 repeatedly or say representative over and over again. If that doesn't work, I say random things until the machine gets annoyed and sends a person to deal with me

Yep I saw "representative" on all voice commands.
0 and/or * work on the rest of them.

If you press nothing it will also default to a rep because it thinks you don't have touch tone! You may have to ignore for a while after several prompts but it almost never fails!

I forgot the name of this site but I need it a lot. With dealing with SSA I save a list of extensions & get a sense for who handles what types of matters. With my personal things, like bills, that I call less often on I get so annoyed waiting.
