Is there anything I can do to reduce swelling?

My ankles, especially my right one, have been somewhat swollen for a few weeks. This morning, my right foot is pretty swollen too. I'm already having trouble fitting into some of my shoes so this is not good. I know it's my fault b/c we had stir fry for dinner last night. This is the first time I was really affected by eating something salty.

I've been drinking a lot of water, which seems to help. Is there anything else I can do to reduce swelling?

Limit salt intake, and when you see swelling starting to begin elevate your feet. This wont prevent swelling but will help with it.

After showing DH my sausage foot, I told him we're not making stir fry sauces for a long time. I put my feet up for a little while before and that seemed to help.

also continue the water drinking. I put a little squeeze of lemon in mine also, this helps clean the kidneys out and gets the water flowing out of the body.

I was told with DD to keep my feet up as much as possible, limit salt and salty foods (keep away from soups etc), drink extra fluids to help flush it out.

My feet are basically crammed into my shoes today. I can't believe how swollen they are. Yuck. No more salty food for me.

Continue drinking LOTS of water, you may find snacking on cucumber and celery help a bit, they're diuretics.
