Is there such a thing as an Ipod shuffle player?

I can't believe I'm one of those parents considering buying my 5 year old an Ipod....but honestly, I don't know if it really makes any sense to get her a CD player. She is finding her musical niche (quite eclectic!) and is dying to have her own music she can play. I've been eyeing some used Shuffles on ebay for $20 but I'm wondering if there is a device to play them out loud in her room? I searched a bit but didn't really see anything on line.

You might want to get her a "kid friendly" MP3 player with a display screen...if she is just getting into music she would probably like to read the titles & artists and be able to browse thru songs to play which the shuffle doesn't offer...

AS far as playing it in her room...you should be able to attach any set of speakers that hook into the headphone jack..unless the jack is not a standard one which Apple sometime does...if you do a Google search for "Ipod Shuffle Speakers" some stuff comes up...HTH!

I have an ipod player that I use my shuffle on, it also can fit all the other ipods too

ipod shuffle is an mp3 player that has no screen. all the songs stored on it are "shuffled" so you don't have control what song is next.

i would think there are a good deal of mp3 players with a screen that can brought at a good deal.

these dont have speakers so will need to find some powered speakers. this would be uses instead of headphones

I have a shuffle and love it. Actually you can order the songs on itunes and play them in order. You can do that or use the shuffle feature.
