Is this GI issues? (We are back from the doctor)
There was some question during my PG if he had issues, but because he was so freakin' large they decided it wasn't possible. Now he is chronically constipated for over 2 months. (Ever since having food and coming off EBF) The only thing that relieves him has been suppositories. Even then, the poop still comes out hard as a rock for a day, then stops again.
What can I do? I will be calling the dr. Can you know at 8 1/2 months if theres a problem?
TIA!!!!
UPDATE: Doctor said not to panic yet. She said to feed him prunes TWICE a day for a month or so and see if anything happens. If he would actually drink juice without getting so mad, then he could have that instead of a second helping. Hopefully this works and we don''t have to move on. Thanks!

We are dealing with this too. It wasn't hard but now it's like little rocks, despite prunes, despite watery oatmeal....I wish I could give you some advice.

Re: Is this GI issues?
Yes it could be a problem. My 1st DS had MAJOR issues. He has been to a GI Peds since he has been 1 and is still on Miralax to help him. My 2nd DS has been on Miralax since 8 months old and he'll be 1 tomorrow. Go to a Peds GI. It will make you feel so mauch better instead of palying the guessing game like I did for months with my 1st DS.
If you want my Dr. name just let me know. He is wonderful. He was my 2nd dr. because the first guy I went to was an AZZ and made me feel like I was a horrile mother.

Re: Is this GI issues?
I am all to familiar with constipation.
Here is my story. For the past few months DD has had such a hard time pooping. They have been really big and super hard.
A couple weeks ago I noticed something that looked like hemorrhoids on her tush. I took to the ped. who told me that they looked like skin tags. Well, a week later they got bigger. So we took her back thinking that the ped. was wrong the first time and that they are, in fact, hemorrhoids not skin tags.
He referred us to a GI doctor. To make a long story short, they are skin tags due to fissures. Now DD will have this ugly looking things on her tush for the rest of her life (the GI doc. said that they dont go away). He also said that he hasnt seen something like that in a very long time and that she must have been a lot of pain trying to push poopies out because they would rip her tushie up. Anyway, he wanted her to get blood work done to rule out anything else, i.e., IBD, Celiac Disease, Thyroid problems. He also put her on a stool softener.
Since the stool softener she has been able to poop without crying and it has been soft ever since.
I hope your DS gets some relief. The GI doc. might just put him on stool softener like my DD.
It works like a miracle. Also, my DD eats like cr@ppy - no fiber at all.
Let us all know how your DS does at the doc.
