Is this normal?

DD is starting 1st grade next week. She goes to private school. We drove her last year and will drive her this year so we didn't register her for the bus. I received bus confirmation in the mail anyway this week and I received a phone message from someone (who I figured out was the bus driver, he didn't say where he was calling from or what his position was ) saying when and where he would be picking her up. Called transportation dept after and told them she doesn't need transportation.

When I get home there is a paper from the guy that called with the info he said over the phone. Uh, is it normal for the bus drivers to be going to the kids house before the start of the school year?!?

Honestly it creeped me out a little but I'm not familiar with the school system.

Yes, it's normal if they are riding a mini bus. They test the route and leave you a paper.

This happened with one of the kids I watch. A bus driver from his camp came to introduce herself and go over pick up times and whatnot. I found it odd but seems like it's normal.

Totally normal. He was just doing his job.
