I think little girls sometimes don't wear their tops-- I mean, look at the Coppertone girl (aka Jody Foster). That has been a branding icon for years.

I could see it being a cute picture if I thought I was looking at that picture of MY kid.
The thought that some creepy guy is going to get ANOTHER idea of it? Forget it!

Re: Is this shot too risky for a Children's Swimsuit Ad?
i think the only thing inappropriate it the temp tattoo on her lower back. that are of the body for a tat is considered a sexy spot so i def dont feel it is appropriate for a 5 yr old.
the topless part i think is innocent. theres nothing wrong imo for an innocent child to be topless... they are alowed to run around in just their undies.... at least in my opinion
eta: i just noticed ppl are thinking the 2nd is inappropraite as well??? i see absolutely nothing wrong with 2 little girls hugging!

eta: i just noticed ppl are thinking the 2nd is inappropraite as well??? i see absolutely nothing wrong with 2 little girls hugging! the only reason I don't like the 2nd pic is b/c she's wearing low rise bikini bottoms (just like the tat, it's a sexy thing - IMO). you can see her hip bone. she's just a baby.
otherwise, it is adorable - the 2 girls hugging

This is what I was going to say. There are probably no pictures of me in my childhood photo albums with a top on!!
But I do think the suggestive pose in that picture (and how low riding the bottoms are, and the fake tat) are pretty disgusting for a child.

Maybe she didnt follow the Jon Benet case. Little Children ESPECIALLY GIRLS SHOULD NOT BE EXPLOITED LIKE THIS!!!
Topless A lower back tat? And she is 5!!???? And then they wonder why their children have done so much & have gotten in so much trouble before their 18! They get pushed to be little adults at such a young age!!!!!

Totally inappropriate - I would even go so far as to say the 2nd one is too. There is no reason to make a 5 y/o appear sexy by going topless witha lower back "tattoo".
As if the pedophiles need more fodder for their perversions.
100% agree...she is a beutiful little girl.

Re: Is this shot too risky for a Children's Swimsuit Ad?
I honestly don't think that first shot is all that inappropriate. The tatoo...YES!
What I do think is inappropriate is all the disgusting perverted people out there who will be jacking off to this or whatever other crazy sh$t they do...because of them a beautiful shot like that pic is is now labeled RISKY...

Re: Is this shot too risky for a Children's Swimsuit Ad?
Is Cindy Crawford's daughter, Kaya, way too young to be following in the footsteps of her supermodel mom - especially in suggestive photos that advertise beachwear? Could be.
Trendy Melissa Odabash beachwear - which has outfitted celebs such as Britney Spears, Uma Thurman and Pamela Anderson - yesterday announced it will pull pics of Kaya from its Web site.
One shows the 5-year-old daughter of Crawford and nightclub owner Rande Gerber posing topless, peeking over her left shoulder at the camera, with white shorts with a lower-back tattoo. Others show her in a string bikini.
"We've gotten calls from all over the place - from 'Access Hollywood,' all over the place," corporate flack Roberta Correia told Lowdown.
"Unfortunately, we are not able to release any of the pictures or info on the Melissa Odabash shoot," she added in an E-mail. "The pictures are actually no longer going to be on the Web site."
Asked why not, Correia didn't respond.
The Kaya photos have provoked a storm of criticism in recent days. "The tattoo, whether real or not, is the first thing that bothers me," one critic wrote on www.babyrazzi.com, a blog about celebrity baby pictures. "It is for sure an adult pose. Yes, JonBenet comes to mind."
Another critic wrote: "The topless one with the back tattoo and the provocative pose borders on kiddie porn. The child is cute and makes an excellent model, but the poses and the swimsuits are far too sexualized for children. Shame on you, Cindy, to let your 5-year-old baby participate in this."
But on a different blog, the over-the-shoulder photo received praise. "I find the picture to be sweet and in good taste," wrote a defender.
"The tattoo look like a temp, which all kids love to put on and take off in a few days."
Crawford's PR rep initially laughed off the criticism. "Oh my God, that's ridiculous," she said yesterday. "It's a stick-on tattoo!"
Asked for a comment from Kaya's parents, the flack said: "Cindy's friends own this company. It was just a fun little photo shoot they did in Malibu one day. Kaya is not modeling."

I don't think the being topless part is an issue (for me, at least) it's the suggestive posing - the look over the shoulder - and the lower back tat. If you open a men's magazine you could find the same pose - it's sexually suggestive and really inappropriate for a 5 year old.
I thought the second photo was as well - there's one thing photographing your kids hugging but the back arch again, suggests sexual connotations. Imo.

please please tell me this is a joke.
utterly ridiculous...what 5 yr old is going topless...I am really disgusted if this is true.
et: I didn't see the bottom 2, which are better but that top one UGH..
btw, is that a tramp stamp on her lower back
I agree. Its sick!! Why oh why would try to make a 5 year old sexy????
I agree! As a mom of a four month old, this is disgusting! Has the whole JonBenet thing taught us anything???

I do not like the first picture at all. For an adult, sure fine whatever but that pose on a child is a bit much for me.

Re: Is this shot too risky for a Children's Swimsuit Ad?
I know I am part of a minority, but I like them. I think they are okay. As others have said, I have many topless shots of me and plenty of "modeling" shots as well (cause we all know we did it when we were little and thought we were the sh*t, lol )
