Is this too far to drive?

Emma REALLY wants to have a spa party for her birthday, like a makeover day. So the closest place I could find is patchogue. It looks totally cool. Would a 45 minute drive be nutz especially with todays gas prices?

Re: Is this too far to drive?

Are you driving all of the party's guests? Or would the other moms have to drive there?

I would offer to drive their kids, but I can only take 3 other girls. I plan on 12 girls

If it were family, I would say it's okay

For friends, yes, I would say that is too far

Honestly, I might be kinda annoyed if I had to drive my DD that far for a party. Not really because of the gas, more the time it would take up on my weekend. They may have other kids to get to places that day and that's a big chunk of time taken away.

I would say no to that one. Even if you had a chance to drive all the girls, who would want you driving their kids that far?

I would go. If people do not want to come then they don't have to. That is my motto for everything when it comes to parties these days.

Isn't there a spa in Aquebogue? Not sure of the name, but I could swear there is one in the shopping center across from that puppy store on the Main Road.

How far would everyone have to drive, what time would the party be at and how long would the party be.

That's what i would take into consideration.

Yes, Luna Mesa is in Aquebogue. The place in Patchogue caters SPECIFICALLY to the 18 and under crowd. They have specific parties for little kids. Luna Mesa is a real big people spa

Driving would be about 45 minutes (but living out here you always figure driving someplace is always going to be 20 minutes+) I dont know what time the party would be yet, I just found the place on the web last night. the party is 2 hours

Re: Is this too far to drive?

Personally, I don't mind driving anywhere. If DS was invited to a party and it was an hour away I would not even think about him not going... but that's just me!

ITA! If they don't want to drive, or it's too much for them... then they won't come... and that's the end of the story!

Good, I'm glad you're doing it. I don't think 45 minutes is a big deal at all. We've gone to parties for friends in Nassau tons of times - never once did I consider the distance an issue. If we were free to be there, we went!Chat Icon

Have you thought about doing a Diva Party at home? I thought they had places where the people come to you and do everything.

Can the parents stay? If there is somewhere for them to hang out with snacks I think its fine. If they have to entertain themselves for the 2 hours since its too far to go home then I'm not so sure...
