i'm sorry to hear this is how you were treated. i really think it is a district by district thing--we won't know our positions for weeks!

I would think you are still protected under the contract?
Usually there is a date that they have to tell nontenured teachers that they are not being asked back.
We had this happen this year and they told her before that date
maybe it was just an oversight, since I think you could probably fight it through the union, if they didn't tell you before that time.
The only thing that can supersede the contract is excessing. They can excess you the day before school starts I believe.

My understanding is that if you are not tenure track then you are a leave or a sub. I don't know about part time. I don't think you are protected under the contract but they still should have talked to you about it. Tenure track or not, you deserve more respect than that!
