Re: Is this worth buying?

You feel the baby moving around starting from the middle of your second trimester. I don't think it is necessary.

Plus I felt like I went to the obgyn's office so many times between tests and follow ups that I felt like I was getting a status report frequently.

I wouldn't bother. If you are thinking about it, maybe opt for a used one. I can't imagine they get much use.

I know it's nerve wracking waiting for that next appointment. Chat Icon

honestly I wouldn't because it can actually make you more nervous if you don't hear something, which could just mean you're not finding it, not that's there anything wrong with the baby.

I'm very lucky to have an OB that recognizes that IVF patients sometimes need more visits and he has always accomodated that, so if I felt I needed to come in just to hear the heartbeat, he would let me

Re: Is this worth buying?

I got a stork radio when I was about 14 weeks. Quite honestly I love it. I used it a lot in the beginning but less so now as DH feels it is bad for the baby.

I am 23 weeks and quite honestly I just started feeling the baby a little bit about a week or so ago.

Also, I had a scare on Thanksgiving where I had a little spotting and it was such a relief to hear the little guy's heartbeat to know he was okay.

So I say yes...

Re: Is this worth buying?

I would go for a doppler before the BeBe Sounds. I have heard that it is sometimes hard to find the baby sounds and many times you are hearing your own HB or (TMI ALERT) your intestinal soundsChat Icon

Re: Is this worth buying?

It indicates on the box it's best used in the 3rd trimester.

I agree. I never got one and I don't feel like I missed out on anything.

i bought this hon and can hear the baby kick - but nothing more. No heartbeat yet...but i'm only almost 17 weeks....

you hear a LOT of stuff going on in your belly...but the kicks are worth it to hear...it's like hearing someone punching a water balloon...it's different than the other sounds...or at least i have myself convinced it's the baby kicking... Chat Icon Chat Icon

I have it and theres so much staticky type noise I've never been able to hear anything distinct - I'm 38+ weeks now and still hear nothing notable- and by this time the baby is moving so it woulnt even be necessary anyway kind of...I was a bit dissapointed (unless mine is just a dud)

I have heard this doesn't work well. If you want, you can rent a doppler.

I thought about getting one and then figured if I didn't use it right and didn't hear anything I would just freak myself out - so I didn't get one.
