Is Wells fargo a good Mortgage bank?
So much has happened in the few weeks since I've been on LIF.
We were all set to close Oct. 30. Our REA said the seller had the COs for the converted garage and breezeway... well, he doesn't so now we have to wait for him to get them.
In the meantime, we'd unlocked our rate and then relocked (same rate, we just missed the dip) with therate to expire Oct 30. We were with Sallie Mae, and I guess they got taken over by Quicken Loans because our AWESOME mortgage guy quit and we got stuck with some dumb lady - and suddenly it's Quicken.
Meanwhile, our layer recc'd a mortgage guy, and he's been GREAT. We're going w/them - less points and better rate. We are pretty sure we're in the clear to switch.
But - the bank the guy is using is Wells Fargo. Is that a good bank to get a mortgage through? That's the only thing that's worrying me.

We are going with Wells Fargo. They aren't going anywhere and they just bought Wachovia(our bank).
Best rate we got, better rate if we could close in 30 days.

We have our mortgage through Wells Fargo and no problems so far (5 years in). They just bought Wachovia so soon they will have branches in the area.

we are in the process of selling our house.. the buyer went through Wells Fargo and they told her it was raised another $5,000 so she switched banks..

We are in the process of buying, and are with Wells Fargo. They matched a rate for us, and are very easy to work with.

I use them, and have had no problems. Best rate, good closing costs, easy to deal with.
