Come on. Seriously? This is ridiculous. He at least went to the home of the downed Seal and paid his respects without lies and cover-up. My sister is a single mother out there serving this nation knowing she can die and leave her daughter with no mother. She didn't even vote for Trump. Doesn't matter. She's doing her job. She did it for Obama and she'll do it for Trump and the man or woman afterwards. She will do so with honor. But lying about why she would die is absolutely dishonorable. That's the difference. One I don't care who you voted for, you should see the difference between.

Six military personnel were injured, and at least 25 civilians died, including nine who were under the age of 13. Among them was the eight-year-old daughter of al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki.
Officials have told NBC News that no significant intelligence was obtained in the operation, the network reports.
NBC said a senior Congressional official is still unsure what prompted Trump to order the raid, as there was no known new threat from al-Qaeda.
Speaking about the operation in which his son died, Bill Owens told the Miami Herald: 'Why at this time did there have to be this stupid mission when it wasn't even barely a week into [President Trump's] administration?'
He branded the raid a 'grand display', pointing out that for the past two years ground forces had not been deployed in Yemen.

Mr Owens has declined to meet with the president, claiming: 'My conscience wouldn’t let me talk to him.'
The Pentagon has thus far declined to reveal the target of the mission, which was planned by the Obama administration but not carried out until Trump entered the White House.
Earlier this month administration spokesman Sean Spicer said anyone who undermines the raid 'owes an apology and [does] a disservice to the life of Chief Owens'.
He claimed that an 'unbelievable' amount of intelligence, which would prevent attacks on US soil, had been gathered.

Responding to Mr Owens' comments, Spicer said: 'I can tell him that on behalf of the president, his son died a hero and the information that he was able to help obtain through that raid, as I said before, is going to save American lives.
'The mission was successful in helping prevent a future attack or attacks on this nation.'
A bomb-making video uncovered in the raid was of no current value, NBC claims.

Little boy got his hands on a new toy (military), and decided to play with it.... and caused several innocent people to die.... just for his own ego...

Nope, not the same. Not even comparable, in my opinion.

It's a completely separate disaster that needs to be looked into much further.

But let's me honest with ourselves. And if you know higher level members of the military, you know that we, as the public, don't know sh i t. The government, on both sides, paints a picture for the civilians. We don't know the whole truth to any of these situations, and we never will. You can't say that didn't get intel, you can't say they did. We honestly have no idea. None.

I don't believe that there needs to be an investigation into a military operation that US troops conducted.

That kind of transparency could hinder future operations.

Comparing Benghazi and Yemen is apples and oranges to me.

Unfortunately, every single wartime US president has blood on his hands. It's an awful part of the job.

Did Trump really blame the generals for the soldier's death? My source is Huff Post, but I don't automatically believe everything I read there. It says he said this on Fox and Friends, is that right? If so, this is a travesty and I feel so sorry for that poor man's family.

ETA: I just read a transcript of the interview and, yes, he did blame it on the generals.
