Is Yemen the new Benghazi?
Or does it not count because HRC isn't around?

Is Yemen the new Benghazi?
First off: One was a defensive attack we lost and one was an offensive action we took so.. yeah there's that
Did we blame it on a YouTube video first? Did we lie knowingly and tell the family members that lie to their faces? Did we drag those same family members out onto the news so we could sell that lie to the American public knowing it was a lie the whole time?
Nope not the same, not even remotely.
Come on. Seriously? This is ridiculous. He at least went to the home of the downed Seal and paid his respects without lies and cover-up. My sister is a single mother out there serving this nation knowing she can die and leave her daughter with no mother. She didn't even vote for Trump. Doesn't matter. She's doing her job. She did it for Obama and she'll do it for Trump and the man or woman afterwards. She will do so with honor. But lying about why she would die is absolutely dishonorable. That's the difference. One I don't care who you voted for, you should see the difference between.

He went ahead with a mission without proper intel!!!! That blood is on his hands. You think for a second that if this happened on Obama's watch there wouldn't have been massive outcry from the GOP?? If Bengahzi deserves 500 investigations, this deserves an investigation, too. And countless hearings. They may not be identical situations, but both caused losses of life that could have been spared.
He doesn't get a cookie for visiting the corpse of the man who's death he is responsible for.

Oh my flucking god. You don't think this deserves outrage but Benghazi did? He. Was. Not. Prepared. Yet. Made. The. Decision. To. Go. Forward. Anyway.
Women, children (including an 8yo American girl) and a SEAL died. DIED. Because he was too flucking busy tweeting? Or sleeping? Or having Bannon's hand up his flucking orange ass?
The hypocrisy is astounding.

Re: Is Yemen the new Benghazi?
... and apparently, the WH outright lied about the results of the raid...
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4267396/Botched-Yemen-raid-did-not-provide-useful-intelligence.html
A botched raid in Yemen during which a Navy SEAL died and at least nine children lost their lives produced no useful intelligence, according to a new report. Just days into his presidency, Donald Trump approved the operation which killed SEAL Ryan Owens on January 29. Six military personnel were injured, and at least 25 civilians died, including nine who were under the age of 13. Among them was the eight-year-old daughter of al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki. Officials have told NBC News that no significant intelligence was obtained in the operation, the network reports. NBC said a senior Congressional official is still unsure what prompted Trump to order the raid, as there was no known new threat from al-Qaeda. Speaking about the operation in which his son died, Bill Owens told the Miami Herald: 'Why at this time did there have to be this stupid mission when it wasn't even barely a week into [President Trump's] administration?' He branded the raid a 'grand display', pointing out that for the past two years ground forces had not been deployed in Yemen.
Mr Owens has declined to meet with the president, claiming: 'My conscience wouldn’t let me talk to him.' The Pentagon has thus far declined to reveal the target of the mission, which was planned by the Obama administration but not carried out until Trump entered the White House. Earlier this month administration spokesman Sean Spicer said anyone who undermines the raid 'owes an apology and [does] a disservice to the life of Chief Owens'. He claimed that an 'unbelievable' amount of intelligence, which would prevent attacks on US soil, had been gathered.
Responding to Mr Owens' comments, Spicer said: 'I can tell him that on behalf of the president, his son died a hero and the information that he was able to help obtain through that raid, as I said before, is going to save American lives. 'The mission was successful in helping prevent a future attack or attacks on this nation.' A bomb-making video uncovered in the raid was of no current value, NBC claims.
Little boy got his hands on a new toy (military), and decided to play with it.... and caused several innocent people to die.... just for his own ego...

Right. Spicer keeps saying it was a success because of all the intel they got that will save us future attacks. HE IS COMPLETELY FULL OF SH*T.
They got nothing out of it! And I hope like hell that the father of that Seal keeps on Trump for an investigation.

Re: Is Yemen the new Benghazi?
Nope, not the same. Not even comparable, in my opinion.
It's a completely separate disaster that needs to be looked into much further.
But let's me honest with ourselves. And if you know higher level members of the military, you know that we, as the public, don't know sh i t. The government, on both sides, paints a picture for the civilians. We don't know the whole truth to any of these situations, and we never will. You can't say that didn't get intel, you can't say they did. We honestly have no idea. None.
God bless our military.

It's funny how when HC was accused of being responsible for Benghazi all of her supporters said "Oh she had nothing to do with it!" but now here you all are saying this is just as bad
All I see, and this goes for both sides, is nothing but contradiction. If your candidate did it it's ok but yet you raise hell when the other one does the same thing.

No, that's not it AT ALL.
One person was raked over the coals for it and I believe there were 7 separate investigations into what happened, she was cleared every time, but people will still bring it up as a reason why Clinton should be stoned in the public square.
THOSE SAME SUPPORTERS, ACCUSERS, STONE THROWERS now have nothing to say. It's vile, disgusting and hypocritical and you all know it.

ITA. I don't recall any issues from Democrats during the first investigation that found nothing. Nor the 2nd investigation that found nothing. Or the 3rd, or even the 4th. I think it was somewhere around the 5th investigation that people started getting annoyed and vocal.
Let's have at least ONE investigation into this.

I don't believe that there needs to be an investigation into a military operation that US troops conducted.
That kind of transparency could hinder future operations.
Comparing Benghazi and Yemen is apples and oranges to me.
Unfortunately, every single wartime US president has blood on his hands. It's an awful part of the job.

I did not meant to infer you said it. I simply meant that Trump is lying when he says that this mission was a success because it wasn't. This mission resulted in the deaths of an American soldier and civilians.
Thus, Trump is equally guilty of lying.

Did Trump really blame the generals for the soldier's death? My source is Huff Post, but I don't automatically believe everything I read there. It says he said this on Fox and Friends, is that right? If so, this is a travesty and I feel so sorry for that poor man's family.
ETA: I just read a transcript of the interview and, yes, he did blame it on the generals.

First of all, don't group me into the Trump supporters group.
Second, if you read what I wrote you would have seen that I said how contradicting everyone is.
