Is your 6mth old really needy? Do you always need to carry him/her?
DS is almost 6mths and I feel like I cant really get much done, he becomes so needy sometimes. I know its that because once I pick him up he stops crying. Is this normal? Any way to stop it? I just thought this would be a newborn thing and he would eventually grow out of it.

I'm still waiting for my 10 month old to grow out of it! I'm so spent by the end of the day.

I spend most of my day (when DD's awake) sitting on the floor with her. Unless she's distracted, she'll cry when I walk out of her sight. I'll sit on the floor and fold laundry or eat breakfast or lunch, chat on the phone. I get most of my stuff done while she's sleeping though. Sometimes I'll put her in the rocker or highchair in the kitchen while I cook and shes okay as long as she's not tired. And sometimes I just don't get things done which I"m okay with too.

Yep!!!! Sometimes she will stay in her swing but wants me to sit next to her. Most of the time she wants to be held.. I get nothin done around the house & feel like a horrible wife when my hubs comes home from work everyday.
DD also made me carry her & push an empty stroller while our for a walk this week & did the same thing the next day in kohls.

This was also a very needy time for my son. The only way I would get any thing done was when he went to sleep. He wanted me all of the time. Now my little guy just turned one and he's walking. He's become this independent little boy who doesn't want me to pick him up as much, and I have to tell you...I miss it. Your little one will not want you to hold them forever, so enjoy it while you can. It's frustrating at times....been there myself, but they are only babies for such a short time :(

One of the twins was and at times still is. I have 2 baby carriers. That is how I get anything done when I am home by myself.

My 6month old DD just started getting upset and crying when I leave the room, etc... So now I'm a loon saying, "Mommy is heeeeere!" every time I go into another room just so she knows I'm still with her...LOL

He just wants to be with you. Do you have a baby carrier? I'd have been lost without my Baby Ktan. I bought an Ergo for this baby also b/c it's supposed to have great back support.

Buy a carrier...ergo, boba or something like that.
Your little one needs u right now...my little guy NEVER wanted anything to do with his carseat or swing or even the cradle. He was in arms up until 5 months ALL. THE. TIME.....
Now....at 10 months, he's on the move and while he still likes for Mommy to cuddle him I already miss his baby smell of just 5 months ago. It goes fast, I promise. Enjoy it now.

My DD is 5 1/2 months and has started crying when I put her in her bouncer, etc. Once I pick her up, she puts on the cutest little smile. I love it

Yes - my 7 month old is very needy. It makes it difficult when I'm home alone with him and my almost 3 year old - who then become very needy!

I was just saying this to my mom. DS is 7 months and he wants to be held all day. I told DH I may look into buying or borrowing one of those Baby Bjorn things so I can have to hands.

honestly DD didn't start being able to spend extended time (30mins+) playing by herself (with me nearby of course) until just recently and she is 17m.
once they can crawl and get what they want without your help its easier but then you need a 1000% childproofed space. once she was walking it started to get easier as far as being able to prep dinner or something while she plays in her play area (baby fenced in area of our living room).
i remember her always wanting to be held til around 11m (she was a later crawler and walker).
