We got note cards so that we can write thank you notes to the parents who buy us gifts.
And once again our administrations shows us who is most important in their eyes.

We don't get anything. At my husband's school, the principal caters a huge breakfast and luncheon for the staff, soup to nuts. He says it's awesome.

Our admin. had pies for us after lunch last week, and then they gave us the "gift of time" On Mondays the kids leave at 1:30 (our normal time is 4) and we were allowed to leave after the kids left on one Monday of our choosing. Ysterday our PTA had a huge table of cookies and treats set up for us to enjoy.

My principal set up a buffet of cakes and treats (cheesecake, napoleons, bundts etc) so we could nibble on during the day in the teacher's room
Very yummy and a kind gesture!

We got a picture holiday card from our three administrators a few weeks ago. It was great!
Our union reps give the staff a breakfast before all of the vacations. So I organized that. IT was fun!

I work in Brooklyn. We had a party in the gym on Thursday night. We each payed $20 to go. That went towards decorations, food, a DJ and raffles.
The part that irks me is....
the decorations consisted of maybe 20 balloons...
the food was made by the school cafeteria staff ---
the DJ was the principal's son...
the raffles were OK -- I won a bottle of dominican rum and I have no idea what to do with it.
I think they could have done more with the $20, but it's better then paying $50 for a party at a catering hall, which is what they normally do.

My principal decided that since there are so many holiday parties, she is throwing a New Years Celebration Luncheon after ELA. I think that is nice!
