Is your child obsessed with anything?

I'm having such a hard time lately with matchbox cars. He takes baths with them, sleeps with them, rides with them. When we're riding sometimes one will fall in the car and he FLIPS because it fell and we both can't reach to get it. Sometimes I'll take them away when he's bad and will get so upset for soooo long it never ends that I end up giving them back. I'm thinking to remove ALL trucks and cars for now and just give hime 1 or 2 to play with at a time. When I discipline him I take them away and he get sooo upset about it, he will not forget about them and move on.

Re: Is your child obsessed with anything?

Paci's at night. I have to put about 5 paci's in his crib to get him to sleep. As soon as I lay him down he spits his out and grabs another one then holds one in each hand. Chat Icon

In the monitor I see him move around in his sleep grabbing paci's. Oh... then in the mornings he grabs as many as he can b4 I pick him up out of the crib. I have to make him drop them.

Doesn't always have it in his mouth, but likes to hold it
I fear when I have to get rid of them. He's almost 1 and the time is coming soon Chat Icon Chat Icon

No pacifiers, no "lovies", no favorite toy, no bottle addiction...

Re: Is your child obsessed with anything?

Ummm...we eat 3-4 times a week by railroad tracks. Seriously, I don't know when this train thing is going to end.
No matter how many times we see a train, there is something that goes haywire in him when he hears the signal go off alerting cars.

He will wait down there for HOURS. If we are down there for 3 hours, I still have to coax him into the car to leave.

His animals!
His new thing is, let me grab as many as I can and they can ride to school with me.
Well, when one drops, mommy can't get to it and neither can he. My new rule: "Only 2 animals, one for each hand and once we get to school he knows they have to stay on the side of his car seat until after school".

My DD loves all musical toys. Any toy that makes noise..she LOVES them

These two plastic fish - we named them Deek and Dorey. They are literally an extension of her hands. She crawls, climbs, and carries them with her whenever we are home. It's crazy!!!

Toy Story. He is obsessed with all of the characters from both I & II. His birthday was the beginning of May and he has them in all shapes and sizes. If he sees one at a store that he doesn't have, he thinks he has to have it. Chat Icon

The remote control and our cellphones . DD will toss any toy aside for them and gets upset if we take them away.
