Is your China on display in a cabinet, OR
do you have it in/on protectors? Mine is on display in a cabinet...but there are a few slots to display serving pieces. All the plates are one on top of the other in a design. I only keep the good flatware in the box it came in. Just wondering what others do.

I have these old-fashioned built-in corner cabinets in my dining room that can display 6 place settings. There's not enough room for much else since the cabinets are cornered. I have a few things from my wedding also displayed but no flatware. That is all kept away.

Yeah...it seems like the protectors are something I'd only use if we ever moved, to transport it. Why hide it? I am anal...but I actually didn't know that people actually kept their China in these things all the time. Well, I guess if you have no place for it.

We keep ours in a sideboard/buffet. I didn't want a standard china cabinet b/c I had no intentions of displaying my dishes.

We have some pieces displayed in the china cabinet and then the rest are either down below or in the sideboard.

Mine is still in their original boxes. Our dining room is TINY so we don't have room for a china cabinet. 
When my MIL lived here she had a china cabinet in the living room and kept her china in the proectors in the bottom part and had their crystal and other stuff on display. They never once used their china or crystal.

i have a buffet and i als bought this piece to display my grandmas china in.
i like a less formal dining room so this piece was good for my style
the buffet hold the rest of the pieces that i could not fit in this cabinet

My china is on display in my china cabinet. I only have room for 9 plates though so the rest is stored in the bottom part in protectors.

I have a china cabinet that I bought for $75 off of craigslist! I live in an apartment and don't have a dining room- so it's in my den..
in it are all the china and our fancy crystal glasses..

Right now some are in my kitchen cabinets ( I have a lot of space) and the rest is in boxes in the basement.
When we move, I am getting my parent's dining room set. This is how my mom has her china displayed. I will probably do something similar since I don't really "collect" anything yet and don't really have any nice vases or other glass collectible items.

We just bought a new china cabinet yesterday - I put one place setting in it, along with my waterford flutes, and other lenox pieces. It came out really nice!!!

me too-and I keep my glasses in the orginal boxes- I feel like they stay cleaner

Ours are in protectors. Until we own a home, that is where they will stay. We wont buy expensive furniture for a rental. It doesnt make sense for us.
