It doesn't even matter what Donald says. The people who like him don't care what he says, does or how he acts. They like him anyway because he says he will build a wall, like he really could. The ones who don't like him have a reason, but the ones who like him don't even care about how he acts or that a speech was partially copied.

Basically, very few people who are solidly for (or against) a particular candidate will ever change their mind. No amount of "he's terrible", or "she's a liar" will make any difference to most people. I guess there are people on the fence about who they will support that may be influenced by particular things that happen (like the speech), but for the majority, no Facebook meme or LIF rant is going to change anyone's mind

The thing is, whether it's politics or otherwise nobody will EVER change anyone's mind about anything. That is why even discussing certain "hot topics" is such a waste of time, people will believe what they will believe and support who they will support and NO amount of back and forth will change that. It's why I try to stay away from certain discussions on LIF and IRL, ESPECIALLY when it comes to politics. You're just spinning your wheels trying to make someone see your POV and change their mind.

I don't think the point of discussing the plagiarizing of Michelle's speech was to change anyone's mind. It was something that happened that people chose to discuss. Nothing more, nothing less.

It certainly does matter. It's indicative of the lack of effort that has gone into his whole campaign. He obviously didn't care to take the time to hire the proper people to write his own wife's speech. And, if those lines were added after the first draft of the speech was submitted (which is what they are saying now), then he should have had someone reread that shit before she walked onto that stage. There are freaking apps that can do it for you! It's just laziness and lack of caring.
It's a fact that he gets bored easily and doesn't like to read anything longer than a page. He has admitted to these things.
How the hell is someone who doesn't READ going to be our commander in chief? There are countless briefs to read, books to read, statements to read, speeches to read. And today, there was a report from a Kasich advisor, that when Donald Trump, Jr. approached him about Kasich being VP, he told him to ask Kasich if he wanted to be "the most important VP in history." Because Trump would want the VP to deal with ALL policy things (Foreign and Domestic). And when asked what Donald would be doing, Jr. replied "making america great again." I mean, WTF?
But, even if you could look past all that insanity, the way they have dealt with this is appalling. Admit to the faux paus and move on. It's not rocket science. If they can't even admit a mistake of this small a consequence, do you think they would be truthful about ANYTHING that went on in the White House?
Hate on Hillary all you want, but you can not deny that this GOP nominee is a complete abomination.

I always say that! It's true! It really does not matter what Donnie actually says or how he flip flops. It makes absolutely no difference to his supporters. He can say absolutely anything, one thing more outrageous and horrible than the next, and his supporters are always there.
It seemed mind blowing to me at first. But then I understood the reason why. People who support him are high on Authoritarianism. Their personality is geared towards following a "strong" leader and obeying. The more obnoxious, loud and "commanding" he is, the more they latch on. That is the one trait that predicts whether or not you are a Trump supporter. I imagine that is what it was like in Nazi Germany honestly.
I hope everyone who supports him understands this about themselves and enjoys following that pied piper charlatan. I won't be doing so. Some people are too independent and free thinking to follow anyone that blindly.

It matters because people have said that Trump's lack of knowledge would be compensated by surrounding himself with a strong knowledgeable team. And this is the team. A former campaign manager that grabbed a journalist, an "intern" that use his Twitter again by mistake (like really?), someone who made a mistake with the Star of David, Melana's speech. And the man is not even president. There ismajor blaming on others.
Is this the kind of support team we can expect if he gets elected? Since he is clueless himself.
That's why it matters.

Not directed at me, but I do. I totally question it. I feel the Clintons are untouchable. She always says how no one should be too big to jail but you can't even take it seriously from her.
I also think it was super shady when Bill met with Loretta Lynch on a plane to "talk about their grandchildren." Come the F on.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Look, she's a politician. She's totally polished and "experienced" and she's also a giant ******** artist. She's like all the others. Will she drive us into the ground? Probably not. If elected, it'll be like Obama 2.0. I'm not up for that.
I personally found Sanders refreshing. He has integrity and not one blemish on his record. Whatever he stood for years ago, he still does now .. He's not a load of ********. Didn't line his pockets to only have to return eventual favors like Hillary. Even if people don't like his political leanings, there's no arguing that's he's way more trustworthy than Hillary. But of course no one will let him become the nominee. The deletions of thousands of voters from his hometown of Brooklyn? All the shady shit that went down? Yeah, maybe I sound like I have on a tin foil hat but we all know HRC has been vetted and the golden girl for the dems and nothing would get in the way of that.
