It hit to close to home
My younger brother just got laid off today I feel so incredibly bad for him... He called me so upset and worried he has 3 children (one just a baby) What sucks is that he just left a job that he was at in August because this company recruited him for his expertise and now this the week before Christmas!!!! I am putting ALL my feelers out for him He is an It specialist who has worked on Global COmmunications all over the world.
I guess I am just asking for  and give others  who find themselves here as well.

for your brother! I think it's a testament to how bad things are that some of these layoffs couldn't wait until after the holidays. In November we were told the next wave would be in January, so I thought I was ok until then, but no, Dec. 3rd they let me go. I hope your brother finds something soon, especially having a family to take care of!!

My Dh just dodged a round of layoffs at his job this week. I am so scared for him. What bad times we are in.

sorry to hear about your brother. i can relate my dh was laid off thursday after 8 years of hard work at a company i have a 3 years old and a 9 month old. its scary how many people are being laid off.

Awful. I am sorry. Years ago, I moved to Vermont for a job that I was pursued for. I was let go 6 months later!!!!

oh man- i'm so sorry.
i know how it feels... my husband just got laid off too- and all our insurance was under him. Thankfully he got 3 months severance w/ the health insurance lasting that long as well... but it's still scary.
and he had a company car that was taken away.
