IT WASNT ECTOPIC
Girls- I am still in shock. I had a sonogram done and it was an intrauterine pregnancy, just not developing appropriately. My RE completely forgot who I was, that I already had 2 previous m/c's, and that I already had the RLP. I was MAD. He said it must have been something chromosomal. He wants to meet to discuss a new "game plan". I am very, very upset by this. That injection is taking so much out of me and it turns out I didn't even need it. I would love to hear some thoughts and/or similar experiences. Is this considered malpractice? I mean that methotrexate is no joke. THanks in advance. In a way, I'm relieved its' not ectopic- but I'm also concerned b/c now I've had a 3rd m/c.

IT WASNT ECTOPIC
I would just change RE's. I don't think it's malpractice, mainly because from what you described it seems like it was extremely difficult to diagnose. I hate to say it like this but so much of medicine in general is "trial and error" - diagnosis by virtue of ruling things out and piecing together a puzzle. The thing that bothers me more than anything is not so much the misdiagnosis of the ectopic, but the fact that he made you feel like he completely forgot who you are. I get that doctors see tons of patients a week, but any good doctor at the very least glances at your chart before walking in the room to reacquaint themselves with you and your history. And this is coming from someone who has worked with doctors for more than a decade.
I wish you luck, I think you have some real decisions to be made with regards to your treatment and care.

Re: IT WASNT ECTOPIC
im so sorry
i agree that i would switch practices - the doctor should have reviewed your file before treating you and not have forgotten you
in addition, an ultrasound should have been done prior to the methotrexate injection

Oh I've already decided weeks ago that I'm switching to Dr Braverman. Its astonishing to me that Kreiner doesn't know who I am after being with him for so many months, seeing him a week ago, etc. And yes- look over my chart before coming in to examine me. I am really upset. Yes I'm hearing its not grounds to sue.
Thanks.

They did an ultrasound and he said he saw something on the left side.

Yeah, definitely not grounds to sue... The biggest and strongest statement you can make is to take your business elsewhere and tell your story so other couples don't get the same treatment. It is well known in HC that a happy patient is worth about $30K over the course of their time with the practice, an unhappy or angry patient can end up costing you about $100K (unhappy people are more likely to complain to friends, family and strangers than happy people are to compliment).

Re: IT WASNT ECTOPIC
Yeah at the end of all this when I leave that practice I want to write a letter just to get my feelings out at the cold treatment I got. The nurses were very nice.. it was just the RE.

Definitely do that, and request that they provide you with ALL copies of your ENTIRE chart, including any and all testing reports and that you expect this at no charge considering the poor treatment you received while you were a patient there, including unnecessary medication you were given this last time.

Unfortunately I already paid for my records and got them yesterday, but everything else since then I want to get-- I just don't want to put up a fight to save a few dollars, you know?

IT WASNT ECTOPIC
I don't blame you, at this point I'd feel like I just would want a fresh start. And that's the best way to look at it when you go see Braverman! It's a new beginning for you in this journey.

Woohoo!!! In the meantime, I'd pop open a nice bottle of wine (if you drink otherwise have a nice glass of whatever your favorite drink is) and toast to the end of this chapter and the beginning of a new one!

I posted the most recent review about him. It turns out all the others are bad as well! I regret going to him in the first place. http://www.vitals.com/doctors/Dr_David_Kreiner/reviews

Re: IT WASNT ECTOPIC
My Drs. told me they couldn't be 100% certain it was ectopic but to wait until they can actually see the pregnancy could have been detrimental to me so I made the choice to get the shot. I wish your Dr. would have been a lot more clear on the subject and let you make your own decision.
The fact that he didn't even know who you were when you went in is total BS.
I hope you find some answers with your new RE

I am so sorry. There is absolutely no excuse for any of his behavior. I am so angry for you right now. I'm glad you already have things set up for a fresh start elsewhere.

Thanks, I was/am angry!! We have a follow up to discuss what's next set for next week and I was going to cancel it but maybe we should go just to hear what he would advise...? I'm very curious what's causing these losses and I have faith that Braverman may find what it could be.

I wouldn't even bother going for the follow up... I wouldn't consider it worth my time, effort, copay, coinsurance, or out of pocket expenses. I would just cancel.

That was my initial feeling but part of me feels its good to have an opinion about where to go next and to compare it to what else I hear.

IT WASNT ECTOPIC
I had the same experience w Kreiner. Had 3 mc's while cycling with him and he was so cold. I also had one time where he seemed to have no idea who I was or what protocol I was on. I switched after my last mc in Aug.
