It's a Sling Thing Baby - baby carrier ??

i'm contemplating getting a sling to carry our Bunny Girl in.....but i have a few ???

1. are slings more 'achey' for your neck? i had spinal fusion surgery (c6 - c7) 3 years ago and my neck tends to get sore quickly...(not sure if the pressure is on your back or neck with a sling).

2. would she be too hot in one for the summer?

3. do you have a rec for a good one or one you HATED??

I have a sling and a baby bjorn, I find my neck and back hurt with both of them if I wear them for too long.

I really want to get an Ergo baby carrier. It has back support and the baby can be carried in a bunch of difference positions. It also goes to 40lbs.

Jess I just bought an Ergo Baby carrier because one of my friends raves about it. I haven't gone out and used it yet but tried it around the house with Liam.

What I like about it is that
1. It can fit both me and Mike (we got the black sport one).
2. It has a back support component in addition to the shoulder support for more balance.
3. It is very comfy.

I bought it at Buy Buy baby and it was $99 but they took a 20% off coupon and I was so excited. It was worth it IMO. My friend uses hers all the time.

I just ordered the Moby wrap so not really a carrier, not really a sling. My cousin's wife raved about hers and I LIVED for my Bjorn with DS but need something to keep Chat Icon very tight to me when I'm out running after DS, at least in the beginning. I can't speak to the back factor yet but I have a terrible back and I asked cousin's DW who said b/c it's a wrap it's actually great support.

I have the ultimate baby carrier that I used with DD#1 and I got another one for DD#2. It is great! You can use it in 5 different positions - sling, front carrier etc. It is a long piece of stretchy material and it was great with my back and it fits anyone. It is easy to clean and DD#1 was very comfortable in it.

Ergo all the way! The best feature is being able to carry them piggy back when they are a little older.

I tried about 5 different "carriers." The Ultimate Baby Wrap was by far my favorite due to all the different positions, it's not binding in any way and it fits in the diaper bag.

My best advice on this is to buy a few different ones, try them out. Honestly, after a day or 2, you will know. Just keep all the receipts, boxes and don't get them dirty! And if those don't work...try the next batch! Some girls LOVE one type that you might really hate.

I have a Kanagaroo Korner sling and it's VERY comfortable.

I also have an Ergo and I stopped using it (for now), until Sasha reaches the weight threshold, so I don't need the infant insert-- which did not distribute her weight evenly and was very uncomfortable.
