I think that there will be some consequences for using the computer for something else-- although conveniently no one has tried to communicate via the computer until immediately after the pieces of the movie had been found..

Right-- that's what I was saying-- when Locke was showing the computer to Michael- he was unable to even type anything.. but, all of a sudden-- someone starts IM'ing the Commadore 64??
They are being watched in some sense-- how, why or by whom is the question..

I agree... just a tad too "coincidental" that all of a sudden the computer prompted someone to "talk/communicate" with it RIGHT after Locke and Ekho watched the missing piece of the film..so yes, I do agree that somehow they are being observed/watched in the hatch.. but by whom, the Others? Are they connected with the Dharma Initiative?
I was so waiting for Ekho and Locke to run out and see Michael IMing away and freaking out 
And Ekho is definitely an interesting character, cannot wait to see how his character unfolds... but soooo long to wait

btw-- can we also discuss the full court press with police and US Marshalls to capture Kate-- I mean, I think that was a little unrealistic-- considering her crime. She was not a serial killer.

You took the words out of my mouth! I was sooooo expecting something horrific from Kate to warrant the US Marshalls and everyone else chasing after her for all that time she was on the run (not that blowing up her house and killing her father was not horrible of course)... they really went overboard in that regard

I dont get Kate....Does she like Sawyer, does she like JAck? Which is it girl??
AND I really wished there was MORE to why she killed her father, So she knew he was her father when she did it? But I mean I thought it would have ben a LOT worse. But first she kills a man, then her first love...Shes a killing machine....lol

Do you think the military is watching them?
Were some of these people sent there on purpose as a recovery mission? but the innocent taged along with them and thats why they were taken away from the bad people who need to be reformed? so they are playing with their minds? I bet Kates dad knows about the island and thats why such extremes were taken with her.

I agree with a PP who stated they are being watched... Maybe all of them have been watched for a while now- even before they boarded the plane. I don't think the crash was such an accident. Someone wanted those people there and made it happen (I don't mean the pilots or anything).....

Right I bet they put on that magnetic field ( jacks key in the hatch magantic field thing) is what brought down that plane onto the island. It was planned and thats why no one is searching for them- off the radar, no communication- someone gave that pilot the flight plan- had to be military of some sort.

The question about the film is WHY was THAT particular piece spliced out and set aside? It's almost as if they (whoever 'they' are) WANTED people to try and use the computer to communicate because they specifically removed the part of the film that tells you NOT to.... hmmm...
There's something not right about that screen shot. That scene was from Kate's past. We don't yet know how long ago this happened because she did run away from the Marshall once more before he got her on the plane. So how can they be watching Sayid on the island if technically, it hasn't happened yet!?!?!?!
AnaLucia is gonna make it with Sawyer...you watch!

I TOTALLY agree with this.. That screenshot makes NO sense as to why a clip of SAYID would be on the TV all those years before Sayid and Kate were on the same plane and wound up on the same island. I nearly think that picture is photoshopped OR the producers just threw it in there to mess with us

I think its going to be a "quadrangle" for awhile. I think Jack realizes there is something between Kate and Sawyer, which is why he was so baffled when she had her meltdown AND then kissed him. He went back over to AL to try and heal his wounds
Unfortunately, I think Sawyer and Kate are a better match... there is def. chemistry between them. Saywer seemed mighty glad that Kate was there when he woke up (damn him  ) and that he heard all her ramblings about her having feelings for him.
AL, well I dont see her having chemistry with ANYONE She is the WORST
I like Shelly's theory that AL is Gay...

I didn't think Sayid was on the island in the shot. I Thought he was in Iraq- there was plenty of footage during the war of random solidiers... we never paid attention because we didn't know them... maybe it was a random Iraq shot. He could have also been watched by the army since he worked for the Royal Guard and had a pretty high position. Maybe they were spying on him.

I agree Flee...it's a love quadrangle... Jack +AL + Sawyer + Kate = one yucky foursome.
But Shelley is right, I went back and looked and that screenshot and Sayid appears to be wearing an Iraqi military uniform not his jungle ensemble so this footage is pre-island. US Military watching him I bet...just another way that everyone is connected I guess.

i agree with this. I think its just a random TV shot to prove connections. But I totally missed this last night, but when the scene came on, i had a feeling I was missing something. now i know :)
I think the whole bit about the horse reminded me of Jack seeing his dad last season- maybe a way the island experiments with the castaways facing their demons?? who knows..
