It's been 2 days since we switched to Similac Alimentum...
and my baby is sooooo much better. His gassiness has subsided almost completely, his poops aren't watery anymore, he isn't fussing nearly as much and he's sleeping so much better! The only down side is the price of the formula is so much more...oh well...as long as he's better!
Now I just hope it continues!

Check to see if your insurance will cover it...Ours covered Nutramigen which is the Enfamil version of Alumentim... You will need a letter from your Dr to get the process rolling..

I will definitely check, my dr. wants him on it for 2 weeks to see if he's improving and if we don't have to switch to another formula he is going to send a letter to my ins. co. to see if they will cover some of the costs.
Thanks.

Re: It's been 2 days since we switched to Similac Alimentum...
I went through 5 different formula changes with DS before reaching Alimentum and what a difference it made when we did. Just wait until a full month goes by - TOTAL 360!!
So many of my BTDT mom friends were telling me to switch to it while I was going through the others - per the ped's suggestion, But I was a new mom who was scared about going against what the Ped was saying.
I know for the next one to go straight to Alimentum.
Good Luck - I hope this is it for you and DS

I remember when we switched DD (3 years ago now). It was like we had a new baby. That stuff is a godsend, no matter how much it costs!

I was afraid that I'd need Alimentum for my DS but it turns out he's good on Similac Sensitive. Give your pocketbook a break before you head right for the expensive stuff.
