Similac Alimentum
The pediatrician switched us over to this as of today, anyone else use this? DS started having blood in his poop and was getting gas and fusiness, so they think this will work for him, my it's expensive! At BRU it was 8.99 a bottle, but the supermarket has it for 8.00! So if you use this, did it work for you?

I have heard that if your dr prescribes this for your child your insurance covers it

Re: Similac Alimentum
My daughter has been on it for a month - she had the same symptoms as your baby - blood in the dirahhea, fussy etc....She had these symptoms for a week and after we switched over - the same day we saw results - no more blood in the stool etc....
Its been working good - it just smells Nasty!!!
And ohh lordy lordy - its expensive - but what can we do??
I heard some insurance companies are starting to cover the cost - you should look into your insurance and ask them - they may want a letter from a doctor etc... I have aetna and was told it isn't covered.
Also - im using the powdered form - its been working well and you can get more for your money....
Hope your little boy feels better

Re: Similac Alimentum
my son was on it and he was a different baby as a result. my DH use to call it Liquid Gold. Worth the price for the difference - he was MISERABLE on regular formula and much much happier when we used Alimentum.
ETA: I agree with the comment about it smelling nasty

Re: Similac Alimentum
blood in he stool means milk protein allergy, you will nee to watch what solids you give them when the times comes. def. as =k your doc to write a script for the special formula and 90% of the time ins. will cover it, it is just held behind the counter at the pharmacy. good luck
