Its been a long night so far...

Aside from a 45 minute nap, my one month old son has been up since 7pm tonight. All he wants to do is eat and ounce, stop and then cry for more.

I just gave him 3 1/2 ounces and he is still fussy and it doesn't seem to be gas.

He so needs to fall asleep so I can get some sleep...

I dont think he has refux. I can honestly say hes never been like this. Right now hes laying on my chest with eyes wide open like he's ready to go.
I can't be normal for such a young child to be up so long.

At 1 month, he could still have his days and nights mixed up. Sometimes it takes some time for them to adjust. But he should be drinking more than 1 oz. at a time.

ETA: If you put him in the swing or pack and play will he lay there so at least you can lay down and get some sleep?

It's only at night that he'll only eat a bit and then stop. During the day he's fine so I guess he's still mixed up.

Right now he's in the swing, but still wide awake.

Sounds like he still has days and nights mixed up. I would lay down and try to sleep for a little while if he is not fussing. If you dont feel comfortable leaving him in the swing while you sleep, lay him in the pack and play or crib and he'll eventually fall asleep.

So sorry! I know how difficult it is! Is he like this everynight? DD had a bad night two nights ago. She ate at 9:00 pm was pretty much up until 1:00 am, slept for 20 minutes then was up until 5:00am! Chat Icon Chat Icon She wasn't fussy, just awake. She's back on track though. Sometimes they just have a bad night.

I agree with the PP as long as he isn't fussy, try to get some sleep.

Re: Its been a long night so far...

He finally feel asleep sometime after 4am and slept until 8:30am so at least I got some sleep.

Now he's wide awake again which is good. I am going to try to keep him up as long as possible today.

Last night was torture!
