Its day 2 on being home with DC #2 and i can already tell this is gonna be difficult...
Im already feeling anxious on what I will do when DH goes back to work. How in the world am i gonna handle and infant and a 2 year old. DD is already whining and DS is always hungry it seems and likes to be held.
How did you guys do it with not much help??? Thank god I have the weather on my side. At least we can get out of the house.

I don't have 2 but many of my friends do. You just do it. You make sure you have a few minutes each day to yourself and you just do it. The time goes fast although I am sure at times it won't feel like it. You are going to be a wonderful mother of 2!!!

You get into a routine. It will get better I did it alone from day one being home.
I put all of DS's snacks and juice boxes down low in the pantry. This way if he needs a snack and I am dealing with DD he can just go in and get it. Then all I have to do is open it for him.
DS plays by himself very well and DVD's are my best friend. When he has been warm out, I bundle DD up, bring her bouncer out, my laptop, and let DS play outside.
The helps everyone!!! And the DD loves looking around and the fresh air.
And I don't know if you are bottle feeding but I am going to admit that I do prop from time to time. Sometimes you just have to do it when you have more then 1.

Thinking this way helped me a lot...Just know that the next day is always easier then the previous. You will be in a routine before you know it. The first couple of months are the hardest...but it does get easier...I promise.

Re: Its day 2 on being home with DC #2 and i can already tell this is gonna be difficult...
i have a 3 1/2 week old and almost 2 yr old and it's very tough. my 2 year old is very active and needs a lot of attention and the baby cries like mad if he's not being held 24/7. at this point it's just survival mode i guess. i let the baby cry a bit if he's not hungry and attend the my older ds 1st. i sit on the floor to play and just hold the baby. it's crazy at times and totasllt exausting all the time. sometimes i forget to pee all day. i just try to do everything 1 step at a time.

By this time next week, I'll be in the same situation as you. Everyone tells me it will be hard at first but then gets easier before you know it. Obviously I don't have any first-person advice for you but wanted to send you many .

Re: Its day 2 on being home with DC #2 and i can already tell this is gonna be difficult...
awww Jen The beginning is VERY hard I won't lie, but I promise once you get into a routine it will become 2nd nature. You have to remember this is a very big adjustment for Paige too. She will start to get used to you and DH dividing your attention.
You can't be afraid to ask for help. I have no family around, but I asked my MIL and mom to come when they could. Can your mom come by a few hours a day here and there when Patrick goes back to work?
Try not to be too anxious. You can do it! You don't have a choice LOL. I used think at the end of each day "well we all survived another day, tomorrow will be a little easier"
In all seriousness if you ever want me and the gang to come and play with Paige we'll be there. I'm off Tuesday's and Thursday's and around most weekends. PLEASE just call me anytime to vent, cry, laugh, ask for HELP, whatever. I'm here and I just went through it. I have no problem hopping in the car and taking the ride!! Just ask

For this reason, I am dreading my mom going home. DD is 3 weeks old and my mom has been with us since she was born and will leave in 2 weeks. I hope "I" transition well!
