Its ok to take a vacation without the kids right?
We just booked a five day vacation in the caribbean for just the two of us.
Grandma will be staying at our house to take care of DS who will be 4 1/2 at the time.
People do that right? Take vacations without the kids, even at that young age.
Am I a bad mommy to leave him home?
We are taking him to A Day Out with Thomas this year so that will be his little vacation.

My personal opinion is that it not only is ok but it is necessary to maintain a strong marriage.
I want to plan a short vacation around Thanksgiving ( our anniversary) for DH and myself and DD will only be 8 months old.

I felt guilty, but decided to do it a few weeks ago. DH & I went to South Beach for a wedding and left my 1 year old and 2 1/2 year old with the 2 grandma's at our house.
We had a blast and the kids had fun with Grandma's.
and to answer your question....yes people do it!

i do it every year. It's great for my husband and I .. infact i am leaving my 3 month old for a week on saturday!

DH and I are going to vegas next month without the little one. I think it's fine to go away for short periods of time. Happy parents = happy family.

I totally agree.
We split our vacations - we get 4 weeks a year so we do one week without DS and one with with, then a week without, then a week with.

Thanks for the replies. I can't wait to go away and just being able to "veg" for a few days.
