IUI question
Hi,
Do you think day of IUI it's best to stay home & rest or is it really ok to go to work and continue your day as normal?
Just curious what everyone thought since we're due for our second IUI most likely within the week.
Thanks.

Re: IUI question
I went to work after. I rested for about 5 minutes, no hips elevated or anything. And I got pregnant. The sperm are up where they need to be, they can't come out once they are placed in your uterus.

Me too. Except for the getting pregnant part. IMO there's no reason to take the day, unless you just want a day off.

Agreed - I lay on the table for 10 minutes but then head to work. I mean, essentially, having an IUI is the same as getting pregnant naturally, just that the spermies are located a little higher and more on target, and when you're trying naturally you usually go about business as usual, right?

Re: IUI question
Yeah, it's what I did last time; just laid there for ten minutes & then went to work. Just curious if that's what everyone else did too.

I actually only layed there for maybe 5 minutes and then I got up and met my friends for lunch.....just went on as normal.

Re: IUI question
After my IUI's I went to work and got a BFP..so I don't think it makes a difference.
But BD'ing that day or the next isn't an awful idea!!! A little extra effort never hurts!

ITA about the BD'ing. My Dr says go about your business. I like to just rest and take it easy. I am so uptight to begin with its just a personal prefrence

Re: IUI question
Most times I went to work, but there was 2 days that I did it on the weekend and just came home and vegged around the house.
It obviously didn't make a difference because it didn't work, so I might not be the best person to respond!

Re: IUI question
I don't know if it had anything to do with it, but I went in for a half day PM on the IUI cycle that worked for us (b2b IUIs).

Re: IUI question
Had IUI.......rested on the table for 15min with hips elevated and then went about my day. We did BD lots though to be sure we "hit the nail on the head" so to speak. We BD the day of the IUI at night and then again 2X the next day. Something worked.......I got my BFP!! Lots and lots of luck to you!!!!

Re: IUI question
For my first (and only) IUI- I went home afterwards and rested. My Dr. told me we could resume normal activity, but not to BD b/c my ovaries were huge and they seriously almost cancelled my cycle. I was extremely uncomfortable from hyperstimming which I know wasn't from the IUI itself. GL!!!
