IUI Question...
Good morning, girls.
Just wondering, how long does an IUI take? And can I go to work after it?
TIA

Re: IUI Question...
You can go to work, some people have chosen to stay home and relax. I've done both with no difference in the results. It takes about two minutes for the actual IUI and they have you stay lying down with your pelvis tilted for about ten minutes.

Re: IUI Question...
It's very quick. It's similar to a pap smear and they have you lay down with your legs up for 10-15 mins. Good luck!

Re: IUI Question...
Its over fast. A few minutes like the above ladies said, and liek Gerty said. I have done both, gone to work and stayed home afterwards, no difference.
I had some minimal cramping on some of the days, but nothing a tylenol didnt fix.

I always thought it was faster than "doing it" the way nature intended
Seriously, less than a minute.
You just have to lay there for a while (10-15 minuets) afterwards. Yes, you can go back to work.
I think once I even forgot to shave my legs and no one complained

Re: IUI Question...
hah, thanks girls. I'll probably go to work afterwards. Only problem is the spermies. They have to be ones from that day, right??

Re: IUI Question...
Your DH will have to go make his sperm 'donation' and the lab will prepare it and clean it. You will go in a couple of hrs later and have the IUI done - which takes all of about 3 minutes. The think that takes the longest is wait is waiting for the drs to get tgheir acts together LOL
