IUI with a positive Beta question

OK so if you got a BFP did you go just by the beta or did you HPT before. I am 9 DPO and I know it is still early and I caved Chat Icon needless to say BFN!

But did you still do the HPT or just waited it out. I wanted to get that BFP on a HPT test ya know.....a phone call is weird but I mean i would be happy either way....

9 DPO is really early.

With IUIs, I waited until 13 DPO and tested with HPT.

If BFN, I would wait and see if I got my AF.

My AF was never late, it would be either 16 or 17 DPO and I never went in to get HCG bloodwork.

I think it probably saved me some $$ in insurance (I had a $5 infertility max per year).

Good luck... and Chat Icon

Re: IUI with a positive Beta question

I only went for betas if I got a positive on an HPT. If I got AF, then I felt it was pointless to go to the office, pay a co-payment, get stcuk with a needle only to be told BFN. One less step. When I would get AF, I called only to make appointments for mid-cycle sonograms and then started gearing up for the next IUI cycle.

Best of luck.

Never took a HPT until after a positive beta (just to see the words Chat Icon )...

Even if I got AF I did a beta, because there is always the possibility that you can bleed and still be pregnant ( My DD I bled just about all 9 months Chat Icon )

Same here, except with IVF as I never got a positive beta via IUI

Yea thats too early, the beta may have been in the 20's at that point...it doubles every third day and at 14 DPO its 100 average...you are fine...im sure...congrats!!!

9 DPO is really early. I got a negative on an HPT at 4dp5dt and then again on 5dp5dt which is the equivalent of 9 and 10 dpo. The positive didn't show up until 11 dpo and even then it was really faint. don't lose hope yet!

Re: IUI with a positive Beta question

The same thing happened to me and I had a MC BUT with that I knew because the HPT were getting lighter, not darker...are you using first response.

Also0did you have the trigger shot with the IUI?

That must have been he!!!

I usually do not go in for a beta, I would take an HPT at 13-14 DPO and if it came out negative, and just wait for AF.

Re: IUI with a positive Beta question

I only had one IUI but I took a digital test 14 DPO and then called for the beta. I actually took a second HPT but the line test one the day after I got my BFP on the digital and it was negative (even though the beta was positive). So, 9DPO is early!!! My RE says to come for a blood test if you have not gotten your period 16 days after the trigger shot

Re: IUI with a positive Beta question

When I got pregnant with my DD through IUI they told me to wait 2 weeks before testing but I couldn't wait and tested at 9DPIUI and got a BFN. I tested again at 10DPIUI and I got my BFP. Went in 3-4 days later for my beta.

Good luck!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: IUI with a positive Beta question

I got a BFN at 10DPO and a BFP at 12DPO. I had my beta 15DPO. If I didn't get a BFP I am not sure I would have went for the BFP, unless the RE wanted me to for the start of provera.
