I've been a victim of credit card fraud!
My credit card company caught someone using my card in Las Vegas on Friday! I was here! They used it for gas and a $700 electronics charge. They closed my account and I have to sign a security affidavit that I didn't make the charges. Crazy stuff!

That's terrible I can't believe some people!! My brother went through the same thing...what a pain in the a**.
I would alert the credit bureaus just to be safe...can't hurt to ask the reps at the bureaus if this is something to report...

Re: I've been a victim of credit card fraud!
This happened to DH a few weeks ago. And unfortunately we couldn't attempt to press charges against the idiot that did this. The charges have to be much higher (we were told at least $10,000) stolen in order to go after them.
So sorry you had to deal with this

Yeah, we didn't lose the card either, it was in DH's wallet. Thanks for the advice, I told DH we should alert the credit bureaus.

Re: I've been a victim of credit card fraud!
Yep, happened to me about a month ago too. Somehow my CC number got compromise (I never lost the card or anything) and someone tried to charge a flight to Saudi Arabia on Expedia.com. My CC company called to verify it was me and I said "NO WAY!!" The charge was denied anyway and they sent me a new card.
Sure enough, on next month's bills there were all these charges that were not mine. They only amounted to around $70 but I had to report those also.
I was not responsible for any of the charges and I pay for a credit monitoring service (I am totally paranoid about identity theft) so I know that no other accounts were opened in my name or anything like that.
