BUMP for avamamma!

Thank you!

I am shocked at how Peds are not all on the same page on this. Some say it is totally necessary and some say otherwise.

As far a previous posters, my DD was not in day care or exposed to a lot of other children when she got the Rota Virus at 12 and 18 months, so there goes that theory.

All I have to go by is my own experience, and I can tell you, I wouldn't wish what we went through with Ava on my own worst enemy..

My PED did not give it. I thought I read it is recommended to be given to children who were born premature.
I never asked about it, so therefor my boys did not and will not get the vaccine.

My ped does not give it. He said he is not comfortable with the track record for it just yet. My DS is in daycare and he still was not for it. He said to just watch for signs and stay on top of it.

It was not around for DD#1 and she got rotovirus so bad when she was 2. She was in the hospital and IV, she was so sick her eyes were rolling back in her head and her veins were collapsing from being dehydrated. SHE WAS NOT A DAYCARE CHILD AND WAS IN NO SOCIAL PROGRAMS AT THE TIME.
When DD#2 had the opportunity to get it, I jumped at it. I would never want to watch another one of my kids suffer like that again.
